π¦ Jiraiya x Tsunade π¦
Our ship that failed to sail...
As we wait for the new episode, let's stroll down memory lane.
I really love this scene when they talk about their dreams: Tsunade travelling the world while Jiraiya, supporting that dream by protecting her as she travels.
Well, this is another ship that failed to sail as romance never bloomed.
Jiraiya must have loved Tsunade from the bottom of his heart since time immemorial despite his naughtiness. Imagine, loving her still despite having her Dan Kato and even more so when she no longer cared about romance. That's love right there.
The passing of Tsunade's loved ones maybe the reason why she gave up on the idea of romance.
I remember during Naruto Shippuden (even until now though lol) a lot of people are rooting for these two to end up together and there's even a fan art of what their baby would look like had they really ended up in each others arms. Sad. It never took shape.
I thought that these two never really had a chemistry between them since Jiraiya's confession is always met with a jab from Tsunade and she really looks uninterested in him, but when it's time for Jiraiya to embark on a Journey to Amegakure, she had a very despondent look on her face and tears finally rolled down her cheek. And Jiraiya must have thought of pursuing Tsunade for real once he comes back, but failed. They would have been a beautiful powerhouse couple. It's such a sad parting for them. Leaf nins weren't even able to retrieve his body to give him a proper funeral.
Well, now that we're in Boruto, I am looking forward for more Kashin screen time and hoping he'd cross paths with the Leaf nins especially Tsunade and Naruto sans his mask.
I wonder what Naruto would feel although **spoiler**
In the manga, he had a feeling that Kashin is Jiraiya.
As for Tsunade, I wonder if the encounter would be a catalyst for giving themselves a chance- a love that should have bloomed a long time ago.
What are your musings about this great anime?β
