jokes aside, it's the nordic architectural style. establishing that the nords build things in a style evocative of ancient egyptian architecture, without being so obvious that most people consciously notice, is kind of a master stroke of aesthetics as substance
it's just gorgeously executed once you start paying attention to it. it's extrapolating the concept of the barrow into something much larger that doesn't feel terribly out of place because it knows where to draw the appropriate parallels
