HE’S GAY AND FRIENDLY!
From: ‘Home-made Toys’ The Australian Women’s Weekly, 1960s approx.
he's gay and friendly!
(yarn info, pattern thoughts, and extra pics under the cut)
AS PROMISED!
here is my gay and friendly elephant pattern document! I've included a transcription of the original pattern, a translation of the pattern into modern knitting pattern verbiage, and notes on how I made my patchwork elephant because he's just so cute and I think everyone needs one.
if you find any problems with the pattern or have any questions, my ask box is open! and feel free to tag me in your elephantine creations! i want to see the world full of friendly gay elephants :)

[ID: Relief sculpture of a horse emerging from a painting, inspired by Lascaux. The horse starts as a painting at the rear and is completely three-dimensional from the shoulders, so it appears to be emerging from the block of clay. Behind and overlapping the partially 3D horse is a painting of a dark red horse. Between the front hooves of the two horses is an X shaped symbol. The block of clay is bevelled and rounded to give it a more rock like appearance. Each photo shows a different angle. End ID.]
Detail photos of previously posted piece. Available on my Etsy shop Thursday 16th October 5PM BST. eredhes.etsy.com
there he is!!! ( the caption says that he stepped in sour cream but I love him anyway )
[ID: Photos of a white clay candle holder. On one side is a horse figure, in the middle a circular well for a candle, and on the opposite side the clay is pulled up in a wall with a Lascaux horse painted on it. Each photo shows a different angle. End ID.]
Something that's been in my sketchbook for a while. Not safe for actual candles as it's not ceramic but obviously fine with led tealights or just as a trinket holder. Once I can make actual ceramic stuff this will be one of the first things I revisit haha Available on my Etsy shop Thursday 16th October 5PM BST. eredhes.etsy.com
[ID: Candle holder based on the Lascaux cave paintings. It is roughly an oval shape with parallel lines incised on each side, like the stone lamp found in Lascaux. There is a black and yellow bison figure sitting on the side of the candle holder, with painted intestines draping into the candle well. On the bison's back is a series of 6 incised parallel dots and a humanoid figure sitting against the bison leaning as though toppling over, plus what looks like a broken spear. Each photo shows a different angle. End ID.]
Really pleased with this, on the fence about keeping it for myself :) May or may not be available on my Etsy shop Thursday 16th October 5PM BST. eredhes.etsy.com
Felt like posting some of my art

A ceramic velociraptor! I loved adding the feather details to this one’s tail. It’ll be available this Friday, July 11th at 8pm Eastern time!
[ID: Photos of a painted clay takhi/przewalski's horse figure stood in a neutral pose, with tail swished to the side. It is ochre yellow, with a darker orange head and neck, and a single shoulder stripe. Each photo shows a different angle. End ID.]
Another Takhi 👍 Available on my Etsy shop Thursday 16th October 5PM BST. eredhes.etsy.com
