reading a lot of film theory for this essay that im writing, i think im just fundamentally uninterested in reading a lottttt of second-wave feminist film theory because like 99% is so steeped in laplanche that it infects the entire text and the whole thing becomes functionally useless; like not that i necessarily agree with deleuze in any real sense about the nature of desire (on account of my sympathies wrt reductive materialism) but d+g's work is just so much better for creating a convincing queer reading of a text

like atm im finishing up with de lauretis, and its just. im looking at de lauretis and then slowly just sliiiiiding over to deleuze and the cyberfeminists; anyhow, if you're really into lacanian-esque psychoanalytic film theory check her out
