Even just thoughts of Mary Jane never failed to make him smile. âYep. Still acting. She said she wouldnât be satisfied until she won a Tony, and even then she could never see herself giving it up.â
About the interview⊠âI try to convey that, but all that does is put my - Peter Parkerâs - ass on the line with Jameson. Sales are plummeting and heâs been on me nearly every day for any scoop that could boost sales. Itâs exhausting, Harry.â
He smiled in regards to his appreciation for his aunt. âOnly time will tell, as her doctors have been telling me. She could make a complete recovery⊠or will need to be moved to a long-term care facility indefinitely. We just donât know yet.â
The doppelgĂ€nger of his life-long friend made no sudden movements. He wasnât in the least bit a threat, yet his words were enough to trigger Peterâs sixth sense. Because - in essence - they were participating (even if only vocally and at a volume no more than a whisper) in something (potentially) dangerous.
Peter checked all around his surroundings - making sure nobody was eavesdropping on their conversation before placing his cup back onto the table with an anxious sigh.
âWhere exactly were you obtaining this⊠medication, Harry?â
If it was anybody else who had told him this information, had implied the request for assistance in theft of medication, Peter probably would have (gently) tried to ease them into a different direction for help.
But, when it was Harry Osbornâs desperate voice asking for that same assistance⊠Peterâs moral compass seemed nonexistent after deep consideration.
âI⊠canât go as him. I canât wear the suit, if I was to do this. And Iâll need another disguise, but⊠Christ, I cannot believe Iâm about to agree to this but⊠Where exactly are we looking at, and what exactly does our time frame look like, Harry?â
there was a small moment where harry was processing what peter just said. he had tried not to imply that he wanted peter to steal for him; and ⊠well, he didnât want peter to steal for him; that felt wrong on so many levels. but ⊠the fact that this guy had immediately gone for it; because harry was harry, showed exactly what kind of headspace peter was in. the guy had practically accepted him as harry, at this point. another chance, maybe ??Â
but harry was still in a better frame of mind; still chaotic; still vulnerable, but better, and he knew enough to just shake his head.   â  i donât want you to steal for me, pete. i donât â- have an alternative, but i donât want you to steal.  â  but he needed that medication. not only did it have a tonne of side effects if you stopped suddenly, but ⊠his body would change. probably. he didnât know; he hadnât been in a position to find out until now. but if he was scared of one thing, it was that.
â  iâve got about a week left ??  â  he conveniently forgot to respond to how he was obtaining it before. because if he was going to try and be better, then â- that wasnât an option.   â  and uh, itâsâ-  â  he was unsure on telling peter he was trans, but he didnât have a choice. as for the rest of the world though; he paused, and turned his attention to his person; patting himself down and finding his medication box. he found it, and slid it over to him. it was habit. donât say it out loud. drilled into him by you know who. and it had worked so far for him.
