Long story short, I really want to write a Dan and Phil fanfic with greek inspired theming, however, I have two ideas as to how they could go.

For the first one, Dan and Phil lived their lives as usual, thinking they are regular people until they get attacked by a monster and, surprise! Dan is a demigod, while Phil is a manticore that has been cursed into a mortal body from birth. Things escalate from there. They might start their own version of a Camp Half Blood.

The second one is your usual isekai plot. Dan and Phil are being their sillies selves when a tragic accident happens, and they are reborn into a world where gods and monsters are real. Dan still has his memories, Phil does not, but he feels a pull towards Dan. They have to deal with stuff relating to greek mythology.

since becoming a barista i have noticed a few very distinct typologies among my customers. such as:

the woke left: young and fashionable. visible tattoos. often enjoys matcha, lavender flavoring, oat milk, and cold foam. pretty decent customers.

sweet old man: drinks very sweet iced lattes, pays in cash, puts all of his change in the tip jar. sometimes orders hot coffee and i get scared that his shaky old man hands will spill it and he'll get burned but that has not yet happened and god willing never shall.

evil old man: only wants drip coffee and declares it ridiculous that any other form of coffee exists. some variants only want americanos and these variants are even scarier. watch out.

sweet old woman: might need her daughter's help to order but is very bubbly and open to trying new things. compliments baristas freely and frequently.

evil old woman: does not want coffee and only wants sweet tea or soda. will not tip even if she spends three hours in the shop repeatedly asking baristas to fetch things for her.

errand husband: either stiltedly recites an order to you or shows you the order in their texts/notes app. needs to step out of line and make a phone call if you ask any follow-up questions.

grindset girlie: always wearing scrubs, an apron, and/or a name tag. orders the exact same thing every day and knows the exact change she'll need to pay for it. her regular order is both extremely caffeinated and extremely sweet.

#mamabear: is actively wrangling two to four children while ordering. order changes repeatedly because the children cannot decide if they want a muffin or a cookie or apple juice or chocolate milk etc. for some reason these women are always wearing an article of clothing or carrying some personalized item that says "mama" on it.

schoolchildren: band of two to eight adolescents hanging out after school. extremely indecisive but generally quite polite and tip well.

amnesiac in love: grown adult who needs their partner to tell them what they like. gets asked a question about their own preferences and turns to their partner to answer for them. generally acts like a shy child looking to their guardian for behavioral cues if you try to interact with them and only wants to talk to mommy i mean their wife.

this of course is not an exhaustive list but those are just some of the most consistent Types i get. ok bye xoxo

Good Omens has me crying on my birthday

It's my birthday and Good Omens has me crying on my goddamn birthday.

Alright, so I just finished watching the new 'season'/ good omens movie and I am so divided.

I hate Neil Gaiman. I hate the terrible things that he has done. And I hate how genuinely good of a writer he is.

Good omens season 3 has a weak start and middle, a lot of pacing issues that were clearly meant to be spread out through a proper entire season of the show. But we didn't get that, in part due to the accusations. Honestly, it is a miracle we got this at all.

And yet the ending has me genuinely tearing up because this is one of the most beautiful queer stories ever told. It is kind. It is hopeful and it loves and understands its characters so well that it is almost frustrating. Because Good Omens is about a demon who committed the greatest sin of being too kind and an angel too cowardly and selfish to follow after him. And it explores this so well and it is insane how half of the fandom doesn't understand this. It was never just about a queer angel and a queer demon kissing.

It was about love. Despite the many flaws. It was always about love, even if that meant sacrificing everything for it. And I have already seeing people complaining that there isn't a kiss scene like in season 2, even though it wouldn't have made sense for there to be.

That isn't to say there is no kiss, mind you. There is. And they are a confirmed couple by the end. A confirmed, married couple of two older men who just wanted to watch the stars together, because that was their everything.

And I genuinely feel heartbroken. Not by the story itself, mind you, again, beautiful ending, but because I know who is attached to this media. And because I know we likely won't ever get anything like that ever again.

So, I guess that I would describe the ending as frustratingly beautiful.
