I know the real reason why they were added to the lore was just so the Purple Guy/William Afton would experience an incredibly graphic and painful death, but outside of that they'd have no reason to have some poor intern walking around inside an iron maiden that will crush them to death at the slightest wrong movement. The Backrooms negative reviews are a spectrum, you go from, “I wasn’t paying attention because the film didn’t flash enough pretty colors for my ADHD-addled brain so the movie is bad” to, “Clark, the black man, was portrayed as being in the wrong for his actions so the movie & Kane Parsons are racist and evil, I am a white person and I am very smart”.

I have blocked 12 different blogs now of people saying the dumbest bullshit ever about this film, and by the end of the day I expect to reach 21.

Been thinking about Angelique's line about recognizing Howard purely from Philip mentioning that he spoke in rhyme, implying that everyone else is not rhyming when speaking or writing. It's is largely due to the game being from Howard's perspective that every single line is written in rhyme.

So that means Howard translates everything he hears and sees into a rhyming scheme. Fascinating.

Going to Twitter and seeing people joking about The Backrooms movie supposedly not making bank(with what numbers they pulled from bullshit articles to get themselves confirmation bias) and mocking Kane just reminds me how much people fucking hate indie creators.

Another reference I've spotted in The Island of Doctor Morose: During the Boss Fight with The Elder One, one of the forms that flickers whenever it gets injured is a reference to Dr. Seuss' painting "A Plethora of Cats".
