Dark knows how he must look to his brother right now– a small and nervous boy who once used to pretend to be so much more. He silently wonders if N remembers those days, before Ghetsis transformed them into the Shadow Triad… the days when he was always this small and nervous and frightened, when he never pretended to be anything more than that. Though he wouldn’t blame N if he didn’t remember; he barely remembered them himself, some days.
Dark looks..nervous? It reminds him of when he first meet the other boy, days from long ago that he could vaguely remember. The days before Team Plasma had started, the days before he became one of the Shadow Triad, the days when everything was much more simple and peaceful. Days that he still clung to, and that he wishes they could have again, after all, everything changed after that, for better or for worse he didn’t know.
N listens as Dark starts talking, softly and maintaining eye contact with him, despite the nervousness he seems to give off. Though why would he be nervous?
Then it hits him, he had seen the Shadow Triad appear to take away Ghetsis after the events in the Giant Chasm so that had meant...and now it makes sense. Was Dark...scarred of what he would say if he knew?
He would be, if he was in his position. Especially knowing what Ghetsis had done before and while he didn’t know all of what he did while he was away from Unova, he could understand why.
N didn’t really care about that, Dark was his brother before being a member of the Shadow Triad, but he didn’t know what to say really. And it seemed that Dark was at just as much of a loss for words as him. Though his train of thought is broken when he sees a Pokemon moving to Dark’s shoulder. A Noibat it looks like, and it seems to be wanting to leap at him, only to be stopped by Dark, who seems rather embarrassed.
He lets out a soft laugh and smiles. “You don’t need to apologize you know. Young Pokemon are quite curious at times you know. Though I don’t think I’ve seen you with this one before, how long have you had him?”
“That’s… that’s true.” He says, a littlehollow. “It’s been – what? Two years? Three years? Four?”
It’s been three. Cheren’s been counting. Hedoes not forget easily. Nor does he forgive easily.
Forgive? What is there to forgive? N Harmonia has done nothing wrong – all he has done is be a victim ofcircumstance, a faux figure of inspiration to those brainwashed by Plasma’sdecrees. Again, it isn’t like he personally asked Touko to run away…
But still—!

“Two or three if I remember correctly, though it’s probably closer to three.” He’s been keeping track as well.
After all, his return to stop Team Plasma was nearly a year ago. It didn’t seem like that long ago really.
Then again, everything with Team Plasma felt like it was so long ago, even if it was only a few years ago. He was naive and was used, but he had still done some things that weren’t exactly the best, but he had learned from those mistakes.
That’s what you do after all, learn.
He’s surprised at Cheren’s words, that’s for sure. Then again, he was busy trying to stop his ‘father’ and whatever they were planning. Sure, he wasn’t the one that defeated them, but he did end up helping; if he didn’t arrive when he did then...he doesn’t dare to finish that thought. Still, there’s something akin to a smile on his face. “Ah, you’re welcome. I only did what anyone else would do, but I’m glad I was able to help in someway.”
Yeah, N can see how he’d be concerned about that. Rumors were never really a good thing, and of course he’d be concerned if someone that he knew was potentially dead.
At the mention of Touko, his breath catches. Even if she isn’t here, he doesn’t care. Sure, he’s searching for her, but as long as she’s still alive that’s good enough for him. They’ll find each other eventually, he figures.
Then again, that’s part of why he came back.
“Even if she doesn’t come back here, I’m sure we’ll find each other again. Even then, this place will still hold memories for me. Then again, that is part of why I’m back but really, I just felt like it was time to return. Still, I’m glad to have caught you here. We have...some catching up to do, right?”
Okay, serious note, while I have a list of this, I do have a few faves from the list such as…
Dangan Ronpa AU: If you’ve seen this post, you know I love this au a lot, and so does Zelda we’re evil to do this to our muses but hey, I love these games too much okay and we may or may not have plotted this au out more for N and Cheren but hey, I like suffering and so does Zelda it seems. also does not help that v3 has consumed my life right now
Ace Attorney AU: I love aa okay and visual novels but that’s another story and I’d really like to write this AU, whether it we with N or Marie, considering there’s a place for both of them in this au somewhere…
PMD AU: [breathes] I LOVE PMD SO MUCH YOU HAVE NO IDEA though seriously, I love the pmd games [especially pmd2] and it would be super fun to write this, considering I’d love to see how both of my muse would fit into the pmd universe and then have all the feels
Well…besides the obvious ‘both of my muses are ace and so am i so that rules out you know what kind of content’…I really don’t know? I mean, I’m open to most things but… I’m probably not going to go super in depth with N’s upbringing with Ghetsis or Marie before leaving Kalos; while I’d love to explore them, the content of that might be a bit too much for me to actually be able to write, but who knows? This could change in time.

Well…N was a character I loved back when we were just getting news about the game and he’s just such an interesting character that I wanted to try my hand at. He’s someone that really believes in what he’s doing and that’s something I love about him.
As for Marie…she came from the idea of the ‘broken ace’ trope, so an ace trainer that wasn’t really an ace in a sense. She’s a strong character and super hardworking, and I admire her for that.

Well…excluding the obvious when muses won’t cooperate, I feel like it’s the fact that they’re basically opposites. N’s more open and emotional, while Marie’s closed off and well more logical. They’re polar opposites, and they’re both different from the usual muse I go for. Still love them, it’s just hard to get into those mindsets when writing at times.

Hmm…for N it’s probably trying to keep him from getting too emotional. While he is emotional, I don’t want him to be too emotional, as he acts on both emotion and logic. Also his black and white morality, as while it’s changed since b/w, it’s still there.
For Marie…it’s probably her lying and just being distant in general. She’s such a contrast from my other muses with how much she hides and while lying is such an important part of her character, I worry that I’m not showing it enough or in the right way.

My favorite thing about N is probably the way he cares about Pokemon. He cares about them so much and while I haven’t gotten to do a thread about it, I do like him being able to hear the hearts of Pokemon as well. I think my favorite thing might be writing him reunite with anyone from Unova, since they all mean a lot to him, and I like writing him wanting to make amends with them, considering how much he’s grown.
For Marie…I love how strong she is, despite all she’s gone through. She wants to do all she can, even if it’s not going to amount to something considering her past. It’s just something she feels like she has to do, because she has to do something after all. I like writing her trying to open up to people, since while it’s hard for her because of her past, it feels like she’s making progress with letting her walls down.
For N, it’s pretty obvious [re: ferriswheelshipping] and I’m pretty sure Rin and I are working towards that, but I have a heck ton of the Unova cast I want him to get closer to as well.
As for Marie…she’s a bit more difficult with this. Because of how cold/distant she is and her lying and her being hesitant with her past…it’s hard. I want her to open up to someone at least and in someways she doesn’t really need a ship…but I want her to be with someone that she can be honest with and will just see her for her, and not for her family name or seeing her as just Alex’s little sister.
Well…I am shipping trash but well…I only really have one ship for N [and it’s pretty obvious what it is] so that means I kinda don’t really like any other ships with N though least fave is probably with Ghetsis bc why does it exist and I haven’t had Marie around long enough in groups for her to develop feelings for anyone so I don’t have a fave or least fave for her.
for that dreaded moment where she would wake up and she was in a hotel or grassland somewhere. That moment where she would be back to square one.
She would set off on this search for him yet again. This need to find him, this quest that has been eating away at her inside.
Her fingers clung to him desperately then, biting at her lip as she did so.
– Don’t cry.
But tears were inevitable.
Just how important could a person become?

He’d been waiting for far too long for this.
Waiting far to long to find her again, to be able to see her again. He was almost waiting to wake up, that this was all just a dream and that he would just set off to find her again.
He’d do it in a heartbeat though. He’d search the whole world for her; even if it took him forever to find her.
After all, she meant so much to him.
And if by the way Touko clings to him, he means a lot to her as well.
N’s not sure when she became this important to him, but maybe she was important all along. After all, it was because of her that he was able to change.
If it wasn’t for her, then maybe he wouldn’t have changed at all.
It really did just show how much he meant to her, and what impact she had on him.
He’s a bit sadden by Touko pulling away, but she doesn’t pull back too far, and their hands are still connected. And she was still smiling.
Just like she always did.
“Yeah, finally.” he returns the squeeze to his hands, bringing one of them up to wipe away the tears once they fall.
Their gazes locked, Touko’s smile widens, and he knows what he had been searching for all this time.
After all, he’s spent enough time to find it.
“Yes, I do. It took a while to find it, but I know it now.”
