when it wasn't meant to be 🤣🤣 but the potential of possibility still plagues you 🤔
drove from new york to atlanta, bought an insane amount of books
more roadtrip photos.. wish i could drive across the whole country
it is so annoying being so self aware about all my issues like okay what now girl
genuinely people should be getting arrested for this heat. oil ceos should be getting dragged out onto the streets and kicked to death over this.
having a hometown is such a fucked up concept. i grew up here so i do not want to stay here anymore. i miss it when i am away but once i am back i realise why i wanted to go away as far as possible from it. i am familiar with every corner of this place i did not realise when it slowly changed into something unrecognisable. i would probably like to be buried here but i'd rather die than live here
“People you may know” and it’s the devil from the Bible
When I started graduate school, I told myself I would work for an economic policy think tank. I read about them in an IR careers book. I chose this path because I thought it would be nice to be left alone to do my research. I am now getting ready to emcee a program at work. I do not like public speaking. I do not like running events. I can do copy and communications for such things, but I do not like this.
This is the 3rd job in a row that I am not happy with. I don't mean to complain, but I've already talked my fiancé and best friend's ears off. I do have to grow up and just start writing. All the life path and birth chart readings say it's not time yet, so it's hard to be motivated when it seems like I'll be in this funk for another year and a half.
There are people who say you can choose your own destiny or build the life you want. I think there's already a destiny for everyone, but everyone is responsible for how fruitful or terrible that destiny can be. I know I must read and write and learn and absorb in order for my destiny to be fulfilled the way I would like it to be. It's just really difficult to stay positive.
My friend says it is what it is and bills need to get paid so just continue doing things on the side. But what if I'm tired after the event planning and powerpoint making. What if I'm tired after muay thai and the gym. What if, for the past two months, I've gotten sick twice and it's messed with my routine. I want to be positive but I don't know how. Maybe it's my stubborn brain, but the wellbutrin doesn't feel like it's working. Then again, it's not a magic pill lol.
I’m so tired of constantly telling people what I want to do with my life. I want to write, I want to be creative, I want to be free from a 9-5. But I continue to struggle with the reality of needing money, first and foremost. So I am stuck, yet again, at a place where I am under a microscope doing work I don’t care for.
I keep telling myself I will need to get off social media for a bit or have some rules. Tumblr barely counts since I find quotes and essays here that I can dive into. I don’t know WHY I keep opening up Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok. I mean I know that they’ve infiltrated my psyche and that’s why I crave newness like a cigarette. Cool outfits, cool ways to live your life. Also, the Knicks memes during this year’s finals were great. Knicks in 🖐🏻
This pathetic feeling is boring. Admitting this is really painful because it feels dorky. When will I read and write? I have to workout and work. Then I have to tidy up everything. Where is the time?
“I have had to experience so much stupidity, so many vices, so much error, so much nausea, disillusionment and sorrow, just in order to become a child again and begin anew. I had to experience despair, I had to sink to the greatest mental depths, to thoughts of suicide, in order to experience grace.”
— Hermann Hesse, Siddhartha (via whyallcaps)
When people truly love each other, they experience far more than just a mutual need for each other’s company and consolation. In—or through and because of—their relationship with each other they become different people: they become more than their everyday selves; they become more alive, more understanding, more abiding, more enduring, more patient, more courageous. They become better people. They are made over into new beings. They are transformed by the power of their love.
Thomas Merton, Love and Living
sonce the sports are happening big rn where i live i made a handy chart of all the phrases i use to communicate with my loved ones during these trying times. i thought others might find it useful too
ive discovered you can have whole conversations with people using just these phrases and none will be any the wiser that you dont even know what sport it is theyre talking about
shoutout to slow growers, late bloomers, people whose plans got derailed by circumstances beyond their control or their own choices, people who never had a plan to begin with, people who have had to start over when theyre too old to feel like theyre supposed to be where they are, people who cant pretend theyre built for the environment theyre in, and everyone who's not living the life they thought they would. im proud of you for making it this far and i hope you keep going until youre happy ♡

Desert Shrub of Paradise (Erythrostemon gilliesii) found blooming in Tucson. Never seen this flower before today but it’s legume family and native to South America. This one really caught my eye… 💛
