And before you say that they've been cooked or whatever, let me remind you that Simon is from a planetary, teraforming, future society that has done a lot more with a lot less and easily learned how to revive plant-based organic material, probably as a fifth-grade science project when he was eleven, not to mention that was literally Eden's main job, and they have the combined efforts of Erid's best scientists. So the discovery births a whole new addition to his greenhouse to include things like poppies, almond trees, oats, peanuts, pumpkins, and (his favorite) sunflowers.
