Do you guys think that maybe the reason Eddie hasn't realized his feelings for Buck yet (that we know of) is because he thinks everyone feels that way around Buck? Because who wouldn't love Buck. He even told Buck that (Tommy) will learn to love him like we ALL do. And if he doesn't then he's an idiot.
But maybe Eddie is actually the idiot here because he doesn't realize he's in love with his best friend

and the fucked up thing is, even in death, shannon has more claim to the diazes than buck does. she will forever be eddie's late wife, she will forever be christopher's mother, she will forever be a diaz. buck only gets to have eddie when eddie invites him in. he only gets to have chris when eddie dies. he will never be a diaz. even though his and eddie's partnership, platonic or not, is more loving and open and understanding than eddie and shannon's ever was.

can you imagine the emotional whiplash eddie suffered in the summer '24. he starts out with oh i have my girlfriend who can always babysit for me when i need her to and who i have fun and relaxed sex with on a daily basis since she just moved in, and i have my wonderful beautiful boy best friend who is and always will be deeply obsessed with me, and i have this new buddy who likes all the things i like and takes me out on expensive not-dates like flying me to vegas in a helicopter :))) and two weeks later his boy bestie and his former new buddy are suddenly dating and no longer obsessed with him and he first couldn't get it up for his girlfriend anymore because she used to be a nun and then she had to move out and now she broke up with him because his ass got visited by the ghost of his ex wife and he managed to get into the strangest emotional affair known to man that also ended up traumatising his kid and made him run from home like my guy hot girl summered too close to the sun and got burnt to a fucking crisp
