I went to a drag show and one of the performers wore an outfit similar to this. My breath was stolen. The drag king had Commander Cody vibes so I had to draw my beloved Cody in my interpretation of the fit.

The Purgatory Polycule (Dean, Benny, and Cas) are soooo funny because they all have bad fathers and Benny and Cas rebelled against theirs (for love). I guess what I’m really saying is that Dean has a type.

I need more Ken and Emi. I need Ken and Giantron co-parenting. Most of all I need Ken to absently refer to Giantron as his baby mama in an interview after a late night with Emi

I also need Ken’s dad with a World’s okayest grandpa mug and Ken asking Ami for parenting advice. Ami would freely give it while screaming internally because Ken having a baby is the scoop of the decade and if he wants privacy he needs to learn subtlety. (She would also totally be wondering when their kids could have a play date. When she finally asks, Ken bluescreens because he forgot that was a thing. He doesn’t know how to respond because a. baby kaiju and b. technically their kids have already met and would cause chaos in any further interactions)

ok. I haven’t finished the hybrid prince yet but Aurora reminds me of actual real life AURORA, the folk pop singer. They have similar vibes and values and how Sora describes Aurora is how I feel about AURORA. Is there something actually here? Was Aurora inspired by AURORA? Thoughts? Anyone else notice this?

She said dog, because they are loyal, friendly, and protect their family. The interviewer said that's wrong, because dogs are lazy. The correct answer was giraffe, because they reach high for leaves and that's a sign of ambition...

Giraffe’s (from an evolutionary scientific standpoint) long necks aren’t made for reaching high places but for swinging their heads around to bash into other giraffe’s heads.

I am a huge Codywan fan and while I love reading fic, I also enjoy reading books. If you also like Codywan and reading books, here are 2 book recommendations that are very Codywan-coded.
Can’t Spell Treason Without Tea by Rebecca Thorne. This is a great cozy fantasy about a powerful sorcerer and royal guard who run away from serving a tyrant to live in the mountains and serve tea. Kianthe is very Obi-wan coded as a magician with anxiety and has a bond with a griffin, similar to Obi-wan and Boga. Reyna is the royal guard, who is fed up with serving a tyrant. She is tough and struggles with hiding injuries. She also has a sword that really reveals her royal guard status. It is basically gender swapped Codywan in a fantasy world. It is a super soft cozy book that feels like a warm cup of tea on a snowy sunny day.
A Taste of Gold and Iron by Alexandra Rowland. This one has a mystery plot but it is not super intense. The main characters are a prince who has a special gift he can use to detect metal purities and his royal guard who was assigned to him after shit hit the fan. They are enemies to lovers. The prince Kadou also has anxiety (I don’t know why but Obi-wan has anxiety in my brain) and is charge of the mystery solving. Kadou is also a bit of a flirt. His guard, Evemer does not like him due to miscommunication about the shit-fan incident. Evemer is very stoic and could have gone into the military with his strategic knowledge. I love the descriptions in this book and it is one of my favorite romances. There is also a side character who could have been a spy and has a personality that reminds me of Quinlan Vos. There is also non-binary background characters that use a gender neutral pronoun set that is not they/them.
I’ve never really written a book rec like this before, so I hope my descriptions of these books is helpful. I read these books this past winter and was amazed at how Codywan-coded they are. These books are similar to Cody and Obi-wan regarding their character and personality, their roles in the stories, the plot, and the general vibe (or as I say, flavor) of the stories. If you pick up either of these books I hope you enjoy them as much as I did. Also let me know if there are any Codywan-coded books you like.
