ok. oh boy. so uh. no he’s not biologically cas’. lucifer possessed the president of the united states who was so hell bent on ending the separation of church and state and creating a more christian america that he let satan posess him and then he fucked the white house aide that the president was having an affair with and got her pregnant. cas spent the whole season chasing the presidential aide (kelly kline) down trying to convince her to get an abortion until he put his hand on her stomach and felt the baby kick and then he was like “This Baby Has Changed Me....i’m going to steal your baby and raise him as my own once you die in childbirth” which yes is a given she was always going to die in childbirth. so long story short he’s adopted.

I think where I understood him to be, I guess, both in the beginning and the end, but sort of within this story, was kind of as a guy who had run all but the last hundred yards of a marathon and could see the finish line and every step he took got exponentially harder, and it was just an onslaught of obstacles and traps and problems that were trying to prevent him from getting there, and the conceit that—when we started with a white board at the beginning in the season—was that he would figure out a way to get through every last one of them and have his nose on the endzone and it would be his best friend who was the one he couldn't get past.
