Sue de Beer 1997 - 2001
Hey y'all, I'm sure you know of Nader Alanqer, who I've been helping raise funds for so that he and his family can access food, housing, and medical necessities in Gaza.
Nader's father was recently diagnosed with bladder cancer -- something that even in the best of circumstances can be terrifying and difficult to treat. I remember how scary it was when my own mother was diagnosed with cancer a few years ago. I'm sure a lot of us have had family with cancer or other severe illnesses and needed our own support.
I can't imagine the pain Nader's family is suffering through right now. If you have the means to reblog or donate to his fundraiser so his father can receive care and evacuate the strip once everything is in order, please consider doing so. His fundraiser is here.
Sharing this post and donating now might be our only hope of saving my father. Please, if you see this post, don't ignore it. All our hopes depend on your donations to save my father before it's too late. Please donate.
I think every lesbian who says she wouldn't date a bi woman is functionally on the same wavelength as men who say they would only marry a virgin
I love being friends with prostitutes and transsexuals and artists and drug dealers and perverts and queers

Hey chat, time for a hot take i think is relevant and important:
Religion (specifically christianity and Islam) need to be taught in schools. No i do not mean to convert or shame children. No i do not mean to teach abstinence and hating yourself. No i do not mean learning to fear and hate minorities who were not mentioned in the bible/quran.
What i mean is that these religions are taught by an atheist who is impartial and simply reads the original scripture and points out where people misinterpretations lead to bigotry that defends the killing of innocents and how we should not let these books to shape our governments and prejudices.
These book, like most everything, have good and bad teachings. Where people get confused is taking everything literally and not recognizing these books were made before modern science and were made in times of fear.
Leviticus 18:22 and 20:13 (Old Testament):
“Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; it is an abomination.”
Part of the Holiness Code in Leviticus, which also forbids shellfish, wearing mixed fabrics, and eating pork.
It was written for ritual purity within ancient Israelite religious law, not modern moral universals.
The Hebrew word "toevah", often translated as "abomination", meant "ritually unclean", not necessarily "morally evil".
Genesis 19:1–29 – The Story of Sodom and Gomorrah
Often cited as a condemnation of homosexuality, but the story is really about:
Inhospitality
Attempted sexual violence (gang r*pe)
The sin of Sodom, according to Ezekiel 16:49, was:
“pride, excess of food, and prosperous ease, but did not aid the poor and needy.”
Romans 1:26–27 (New Testament, Apostle Paul)
“Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.”
Paul criticizes non-Jewish (Gentile) sexual practices, possibly in the context of pagan rituals.
The term “unnatural” (“para physin” in Greek) meant "against our custom" — not necessarily immoral.
So basically; christians really didn’t like pagans, so they dissed their practices. Its like saying:
Pagans: “hey i have a really nice hat!”
Christens: “well ur hat is stupid and ur mean >:(“
Religion may not be dissing the act of gay sex, but the people associated with it at the time. They just really didn’t like pagans not really the acts themselves
To summarize this long essay: we should teach religion from an unbiased teachers to explain how fundamentally fucked our government system is and how we are using 1) outdated 2) they weren’t really talking about hating all homosexuals and 3) maybe we don’t put kill people just because they believe in a different god/lack of one??????
This is just my (very) hot take on our education system. I DEFINITELY missed alot so take this with a couple cups of salt.
Hey also the reason for the bible and quran is because these are the leading religions. I have no problems with either; I only have problems when they are weaponized.
