“You fucking child” - that’s it, that’s the post.
I’ve heard the claim that “Sylvie doesn’t love Loki as much as he loves her”
Here’s the thing. She did, and she will. Deep down, she still is and always will be. He was the only person to comfort her and understand her and relate to her and believe in her and risk everything for her. He was the first person she trusted and opened up to and was close to and felt safe with. He is the love of her life. Her soulmate. Then, from her perspective, he betrayed and abandoned her. Like Loki, she fears rejection above pretty much all else, both of them not feeling accepted and loved as they are by their respective authority figures. A year has gone by for her, and because she does not know that only a few days have passed for him, she now thinks Loki doesn’t even care enough to look for her. She thinks he moved on. She thinks his presence will ruin the life she has built for herself (something she would not have gotten without his help, btw) and get in the way of her happiness and safety yet again. She is closing herself off to protect her feelings from a perceived threat to that happiness and safety.
I know deep in my soul, that once they are in the same place and she feels safe enough to be vulnerable and trust fall into him, especially if they finally get security and stability together, she will allow herself to love more fully and deeply than anyone can comprehend. She will want to die with him again.
Succession Relationships | Cut to the Feeling
Well, it was nice knowing you, then. Yep.
One element of Billy that Sam Claflin really beautifully portrays is the battle Billy is having with himself not to give into his addictive inclinations. In the book, Billy says of Daisy, “When someone’s presence gives you energy, when it riles up something in you – the way Daisy did for me – you can turn that energy into lust or love or hate. I felt most comfortable hating her.” Sam surfaces the implications of that statement by making clear, through Billy’s coiled physicality around Daisy, that the same creative energy Daisy unlocks in Billy unsettles him to a dangerous degree because it brings him closer to his addiction. Billy quickly senses that Daisy is a threat to the control he craves, and because of the mirror she holds up to him, she is a threat to the level of self-delusion Billy is employing as a means of keeping it all together. Sam’s body language in Billy and Daisy’s early scenes practically screams “I need a drink”. Notice how tense Billy is during his initial interactions with Daisy – the clenched jaw, balled up fists, fidgeting, constantly reaching for a cigarette.
This tension stands out in contrast to the freedom of movement Riley gives Daisy.
And this scene at the close of episode 3 really shows Billy’s fear and trepidation, his instinct to hold himself away from the high of his and Daisy’s connection…
In conflict with his instinct to give into it.
to follow up on that anon you just posted about how they wouldn't really be toxic together, they also very clearly demonstrated throughout the show that Billy DIDN"T fall apart or go off the deep end during her darkest moments -- in fact he stayed and helped her how he could. And at the Chicago show it is very clear that, despite the fact that she still has a major drug problem, the moment she realizes both that he's been drinking again AND is spiraling and doing drugs, she completely course corrects to support what is best for his sobriety and then also decides to get sober herself.
THEY MAKE EACHOTHER BETTER, and not because they're trying to impress the other person -- they know they can be the absolute worst version of themselves in front of eachother and basically feel no shame or judgement, but when confronted with the other in a terrible place their instinct is to pick up the slack.
Obviously addiction is its own solo battle, but when it comes to their relationship the only thing making them so angry and miserable with eachother is NOT being honest and close, because of his marriage (and then hers -- but mostly always his). There's really nothing about their "toxic" fights/behavior that isn't connected to them wanting eachother and not being able to act on it (or feeling guilty/angry for acting on it, or for wanting to, etc. etc.) -- so I do expect that post the final scene, their romantic relationship would probably be very much like the sunroom scene and like the nightime beach scene and the diner scenes and their writing music scenes ect. etc.
ramble over 😂
thank u for saying everything I wanna say but way smater and more coherent <33
We were two halves, in that way you almost never find with anyone.
things camibilly stan’s don’t seem to understand; billy didn’t really want to be a husband or a dad!!! ofc he’s going to stay with camila out of obligation! he married her out of obligation! he didn’t plan for her get pregnant and he didn’t plan to get married but he had to because he wanted to be better than his father!!
“But with Billy, it was different. Everything that made Daisy burn, made me burn. Everything I loved about the world, he loved about it. Everything I struggled with, she struggled with. We were two halves, in that way you almost never find with anyone. But at the same time, we were a mess. Two natural disasters who needed to heal. And I don’t think we would have done that. I mean, I know we wouldn’t have. At least not then.” Riley Keough as Daisy Jones & Sam Claflin as Billy Dunne in Daisy Jones & The Six (2023)
I’ve been in love. And it hurts, doesn’t it? But it doesn’t have to. Love doesn’t have to be bombs and tears and blood. Love can be peace. And it can be beautiful. And if you’re lucky enough to find somebody who lifts you up… even when you don’t deserve it… that’s where the light is. So, my wish for you tonight, ladies and gentlemen, is find someone who helps you see the light.
DAISY JONES & THE SIX Track 10: Rock ‘n’ Roll Suicide
Watched the finale. Satisfied, I guess. Still need to process it, as some parts hit too close to home.
Buuuut…I don’t understand (though I thought I did at some point), what is the actual pull of Camilla for Billy? WHAT? All I saw was the man spiralling twice because of her.
Sam Claflin as Billy Dunne in Daisy Jones & the Six (2023)
I'm glad that they decided to have daisy and Camila meet before the end of the show unlike the book where they meet at the end of the book
Read the book again
I love Camila, and as a community, we do not do enough to appreciate how manipulative she was. Especially with the show casting her as a perfect partner who only lashes out when pushed to extremes, I think we lose sight of what made her character successful — and sometimes frustrating. Camila unapologetically took what she wanted, which often meant manipulating the people and situations around her. In the end, her acts saved her family and likely Billy and Daisy’s lives, but they weren’t without consequences. Camila’s vices — stubbornness and manipulation— were put to the greater good, and when compared to the much greater sins of everyone else, I think it’s easy to relegate Camila to perfection. But she’s so much more!
Especially when we consider the narrator and how things may be framed for their benefit, Camila makes more sense when we balance her undeniable good with her vice, and it gives her the agency this story largely lacks for her. I say this as a huge Camila stan — let the girl be the schemer she is.
Wild theory on why they’ve changed the concert & interview years in “Daisy Jones & the Six” series:
- Daisy Jones & the Six is inspired by Fleetwood Mac’s rollercoaster “Rumors” journey (love, drugs, rock&roll)
- 1979 was one of the biggest years in music because of Pink Floyd’s “The Wall” album, so DJATS would’ve had low chances of being the biggest band that year, but 1977 was better suited musically speaking for them - it’s when “Rumors” launched
- and then 20 years later, what do we have? Correctomundo, it’s 1997, the year when Fleetwood Mac made their come-back with “The Dance” live album and recording of, you know, those memorable Stevie & Lindsay moments during “The Chain” and “Silver Spring”
Hence, my wishful thinking / wild guess that DJATS will either reunite or Daisy & Billy will record that song that they owned Camilla. Either way, it’s a good year for them!
The best part about daisybilly is that it's almost 2 ships for the price of one.
First one is the younger version: they're insane, stupid and full of unresolved sexual tension.
The second (potentially) one is two middle aged people with troubled past who are more or less calmed da fuck down already and didn't expect newly found passion to hit them.
And I think
