fucking hate it when the stuff everybody says "actually works" does actually work.
hate exercising and realizing i've let go of a lot of anxiety and anger because i've overturned my fight-or-flight response.
hate eating right and eating enough and eating 3 times a day and realizing i'm less anxious and i have more energy
hate journaling in my stupid notebook with my stupid bic ballpoint and realizing that i've actually started healing about something once i'm able to externalize it
hate forgiving myself hate complimenting myself more often hate treating myself with kindness hate taking a gratitude inventory hate having patience hate talking to myself gently
hate turning my little face up to the sun and taking deep breaths and looking at nature and grounding myself and realizing that i feel less burdened and more hopeful, more actually-here, that i am able to see the good sides of myself more clearly, that i am able to see not only how far i have to grow - but also how much growth i have already done & how much of my life i truly fill with light and laughter and love
horrible horrible horrible. hate it but i'm gonna do it tho
The seething continues.
Going to shamelessly include brushing and flossing to this. Freaking hate doing it, but realizing how having clean teeth feels so good.

sudan solidarity collective
This is absolutely horrific. PLEASE pay attention to Sudan. We are 1 year and 5 months into the genocide. There is little to no support from the West! Many of the families and grassroots organizations depend on us to help them. So please donate and share!
As of 25 May 2026, the gofundme is still up and taking donations
July 24, 1969: Founding of the Gay Liberation Front
By Zane McNeill, Riley Clare Valentine, and Blu Buchanan
On July 24, 1969, the Gay Liberation Front (GLF) was founded. It had developed out of the Mattachine Society of New York, which had adopted very respectable and legal techniques to advance equality for gay men and lesbians. After the Stonewall riots, a group of gay men and lesbians who were tired of police abuse and frustrated with the Mattachine Society’s tactics formed the Gay Liberation Front.
One of the GLF’s first acts was to organize a march in response to Stonewall and demand an end to the persecution of gay men and lesbians, which became New York’s first Pride parade, held on June 28, 1970.
The GLF had an expansive leftist political platform. They denounced racism and supported various anti-imperialist causes and the Black Panther Party. They were publicly anticapitalist and attacked the nuclear family as well as gender roles. Nonetheless, their focus was solidly on gay rights. The members fought against mainstream attitudes and values, in direct contrast to the Mattachine Society.

the thing about being bullied for being weird as a kid is that even if you've always embraced being weird your brain is still always looking for the line where it's too much. you can be as proudly and intentionally weird as you want and you can love being weird but your mind is still convinced there's a point where you get too weird and people start treating you like a weird looking bug again. also it feels like you reach that point 500 times a day even if everyone you've spoken to today found you pleasant and likable and even if you're completely alone in your house with nobody looking at you at all.
Shout out to all the Black ppl that can no longer participate directly in the fandom they love because of the stresses of racism 👍🏾 you contain multitudes of value and I'm sorry that the color of your skin and the power of your voice makes people not want to acknowledge that.
Yes, nonblack people can reblog. I'd appreciate it, in fact, if y'all took the time to vocally support your Black friends/fans in fandom.
i think an interesting note about obsession is the way people talk about the scene when nikki gives the homeless guy $20 because people say stuff like “ohh this shows that she’s a total sweetheart!!” meanwhile i’m like… she asked the group “does anyone have any cash?” and when sarah replies “uhhh yeah i’ve got a 20 why?” nikki snatches it from her and gives it away without asking so like i think it actually says something far more interesting about her character tbh
one of the movie’s biggest strengths is that the characters are very fleshed out and nuanced and feel like real people
nikki has a sweet veneer but she takes money and gives it away without asking, she admits she never bothered to ask bear what he wants to do with his life, she mocks him for ordering a “girly drink”
bear is a piece of shit who makes horrible decisions but he starts out as just a normal dude who is way too fucking spineless for his own good and lets that ruin his and everyone else’s lives because he’s also selfish as fuck
and this is why i think trying to boil them down into “nikki is a sweet perfect innocent angel and bear is a 100% evil villain from the beginning” actually does a huge disservice to the movie and its characters and the way it discusses how abuse doesn’t manifest only in caricatures but in normal goddamn flawed and nuanced flesh and blood human beings

The day I started posting about #leo/need was the best day of my life.
Like if you’re a #hatsune miku colorful stage fan, reblog if you’re a #kanade yoisaki fan.
You ever just... yell about #mafumom??
Having a traumatic childhood means you cannot talk even objectively about your basic foundational experiences without it being "venting", even if you're not actually venting. You just straight up have a huge chunk of your life you can't talk about, full stop, without it being trauma dumping.
And it not being socially acceptable to talk about your own childhood is super alienating. Sometimes people want to know why, and any answer you can give them is going to be off putting.
It's to the point I get irritated when something I said is framed as venting when I'm literally just talking about my life experiences, doing my best to keep emotion out of it.
when I was in high school, I overheard two older students talking about a friend of theirs.
One of them said something like, "it doesn't bother me that [Friend] was in residential mental health treatment, I just wish they wouldn't talk about it ALL the time".
The other replied, "Well, that was all of last year for them. So when they say 'when I was in treatment,' it's like when you say 'last year'."
I try to remember that any time someone says something that sounds Shocking to me. sometimes one person's scary special crisis is another person's last year.
If you want to be accepting of mental illness, you need to accept the fact that some people's everyday lives are going to be terrifying to you. That doesn't mean they don't get to talk about it. Stop forcing hurt, isolated people to become even MORE hurt and isolated because you can't fathom toughening up a bit.
