Aylo, I'm Bobby and in multiple fandoms (Dispatch, DCU, MCU, White Collar, etc.) and also a crossover fan, so some fandoms I only interact with if they're apart of a crossover (Danny Phantom, Transformers) and sometimes they graduate to one of my mains.

This blog is mainly for me to spitball fic ideas or thoughts on characters, but you might see me talking about fics in general.

So you know the whole "return to sender" thing Peter has and how that makes him pretty damn amazing at catching things?

Well I think itd be really funny if its an involuntary reflex akin to his spidey-sense.

It starts off with someone tossing keys to him and missing, and Peter vaults backwards, some frankenstein between graceful and a fish on land, off the couch to catch it.

then someone drops a mug of coffee, and there Peter is, diving across the floor and catching it.

Eventually someone purposefully throws something and it gets caught. And it escalates. A cup turns into a vase, then a phone, a laptop, a chihuahua, etc.

And the more valuable or breakable something is, the larger the area Peter will instinctively try to catch something. He's catching things dropping on the other side of the room, maybe even down a hallway.

Then on a mission someone's equipment fails, leaving them plummeting towards the ground and suddenly, spider-man, who was on the other side of the building, is catching them.

Dispatch "Humans are Space Orcs" AU

So far I haven't seen this YET, I might write a blurb as a fic prompt but im in the throes of a creativr block.

The human would be Robert (who'd've thunk?) and he somehow gets to space (maybe with his mech) and gets introduced to the Z Crew, a group of various aliens working under a rehabilitation program (to not much success)

In this AU, Dispatch's earth could still have superpowers and I think that Robert, used to having to play high stakes without powers, would see a crew of aliens with who knows what abilities and immediately starts putting in WORK only to completely overshoot any reasonable amount of effort.

Robert would also quickly become captain or something. Imagine having a check in with the fire hazard of a crew only to have a HUMAN show up in their stead.

Fic premise -> excited sleep deprived rambling of a madman

So I found out about White Collar through Jason Todd crossover fics, and I ended up watching the show. This is just an idea I wanted to share since I haven't seen anyone do it yet! So spoilers ahead

If you've looked through the DCxWC crossovers on Ao3 you've probably noticed that some of them have Neal Caffrey as a brother to someone in the batfam. Biological or adopted. But there's also a large presence of Jason Todd is Neal Caffrey fics. Why not combine the two? Iirc (its not even remembering im literally just thinking of some small mention) in one of the comics Jason has an older brother named Danny/Daniel, with brown hair, who dies from a fall while trying to get with a gang (or something, never read the comic)

Now Neal Caffrey's witsec name was Danny (Daniel probably).

You could twist this a few ways, Jason, Neal, and Catherine were both in witsec and Willis has James' story and is in prison. Neal has his fall and for whatever reason isn't able to/doesn't want to return after healing. (Amnesia, belief that he had nothing to return to, its unsafe, etc.) (Though honestly I think witsec would've moved them to Gotham (terrible choice but... eh) because Gotham's infrastructure for that is Not Good for them to have been placed in it if they were from there)

You could also totally change either of their canon backgrounds, (Jason Todd... with a St. Louis accent? Hmm) like imagine a Neal who got his con skills from Gotham, absolute menace, still can't physically fight, but even better with a gun than he already is and a silver tongue sharper than a sword.

I see it as being Neal tries to join a gang for money to support himself and Jason after Catherine dies, he falls, survives and winds up in a hospital (somehow) and by the time he wakes up enough time has passed that Neal is worried Jason is dead (maybe he was really sick at the time). He goes looking and can't find him (Jay got yoinked by B) and eventually believes he truly is. Of course Jay doesn't stay/go looking because my mans fell off the side of the building in Crime Alley and never came home, dude is dead. Neal picks himself up and leaves Gotham and his backstory continues as normal, same goes for Jason.

If it weren't for Jason's training, I think it would be neat for Neal to actually be the better shooter. Perhaps whenever they reunite Jason teaches Neal, only for him to surpass him in skill. If that weren't the case I still think their dynamic in a dangerous situation would be interesting, Jason would make up for where Neal lacks in fighting ability and Neal makes up where Jason lacks in conning and smooth talking.

...Actually now that I think of it, Neal could've/would've taught Jason how to shoot and handle a gun and Jason taught Neal the intricacies of literature and wordplay. And eventually their interest becomes the other's specialty.

Chase doesn't say anything in hopes that they don't remember he exists because if they do, the jokes are going to get so much worse.

However this is just what he sees from his workspace. Its all appearing on Robert's desk.

Robert, who the z-team has now only noticed has gray hairs.

Based off some fanart I saw (can't find it sorry :( ) where the lighting made it look like Robert was beginning to go gray. Then I thought about it.

This man DEFINITELY has gray hairs. 15 consecutive years of solo heroism, crushing expectations, and financial stress all without support or relief? May as well have aged him 60 years.

Dispatch but merged with Transformers and the Robertsons are the human touchpoint/allies.

Robert in this universe was also probably around them so much from such a young age he can understand cybertronian and carries some of their habits/social cues.

Is the mech suit an actual transformer? Either no, its a point of pride with being able to be eye to eye and fight the same fight or yes, because it'd be easier and prevents the local bots from being forced to look at the human equivalent of a puppeteered flesh mannequin.

Its just an average day for Torrence L.A., with Z-team out on duty and bantering with Robert Robertson III (Their Dispatcher) about their favorite donuts after Granny's was robbed and Waterboy accidently soaked an entire display case in the ensuing fight.

Sonar: "Its gotta be jelly, dude"

Invisigal:"Sonar dont be stupid. The long ~cream~ filled ones are the way to go wink wink"

Punch-Up: "You are all idiots its gotta be rum and maple especially for fighting early"

Robert: "All of you shut up. My favorite is plain glazed if you wanna make fun of somebody"

*Grumbles from the whole team, and a few jabs at the donut pick*

Robert: Just. Focus and do your jobs. Ive got a call coming in from downtown, looks like an asteroid was re-directed at the Vanderstink labs. Flambae, Golem, Prism, and Phenomoman you good to go?

*Agreements from all but with a little grumbling from Prism and Flambae*

Thankfully for the Vanderstink labs and the rest of Torrence at risk from asteroids, by the time all for heros made it to the site another hero had stepped in.

Flambae: "Looks like the problems already handled Bob-Bob we got Astro-Lab already on scene"

Malevola: "Damn a Space League hero all the way out here?"

Phenomaman: "It seems as the situation was urgent for such a hero to appear"

Astro-Lab, of course, was one of the faces of the Space League (one of the front-runners of the hero movements and defenders against extraterrestrial and intergalactic threats). He had been around for a decade, and was known around the world for his contributions to the earth's protection. Every citizen looked up to him and every hero wanted to be like him.

All of these reasons made it so when Robert Robertson, objectively normal guy outside of his suit, responded to the news with "Oh Jamie? How is he its been a while" every member of the Z-Team jumped a little.

Prism: "You know ASTRO-LAB?!"

Punch-Up: "The hero who stopped an alien army on his own and injured?"

Waterboy: "The Astro-Lab that leads the Sp. S. Space League?"

Coupé: "One of you should talk to him"

Robert: "Of course I know him. Of the Space League hes the easiest to get in contact with. "

When approached by other heros, Astro-Lab was happy to introduce himself. He had to work with many supers as head of the League after all, and was always happy to meet new heros. What was a surprise however, is that they knew Robert Robertson the Third. His mentor for heroing, a brilliant hacker and hero. Mecha-Man had helped set up the League (even if he claimed not to have done anything. He connected them to the broader heroing sphere, did all their security, and even brought new members to them from time to time to help them grow)

After Mecha-Man fell, and thought dead Astrolab never thought he would see his friend again. Of course when approached by what was clearly a new team he was helping out he immediately asked to meet up.

Maybe Z-Team gets protective over Robert being friends/ having other heros that look up to him (not that Robert has any idea about it) maybe they fanboy over these heros maybe angst all around with new heros that realize they started heroing at age like 27 and their mentor was a 16 year old anything is possible I like this idea a lot thx op

Like he's literally shaped the current age of heroes, but refuses to believe it because he devalues his own actions. And it's not like he's getting any positive public reception cause they just don't know.

Not to mention Astro-Lab as a character??? Like he would be a world renowned hero because he's head of the Space League and stopping literal alien invasions, whereas Robert's the Legacy Hero of (just) Torrance. However without Robert and his influence of Mecha Man he probably caused Astro to take up heroism and push it as far as he did. As well as Robert putting his extensive connections, seniority (in experience, not age lol), and effort into helping not just citizens but fellow heroes, he may be the Torrance's Mecha Man, but he's also the role model and mentor of the new generation.

(I have no idea if Astro-Lab is an established character of yours or if you made him up on the spot here but auaagah, he fits so nicely into Dispatch's wider canon)

There was an AU once that someone wrote, and they let me write it, too, and I’m not sure if they created it or what, but I want to write it again for Dispatch

It was called Soul Paint. Basically, the people you love (any kind of love) leave colored marks on your skin, and if they love you back, you also leave those marks on their skin. It happens when you touch each other after the love is accepted, so like, your parents might leave paint on your back from the first time they held you, or you and a friend get paint on each other’s shoulders or knuckles from bumping them together

In the case of Dispatch, I’m thinking about multi-chapter where each chapter is one character either realizing they left a mark on someone or realizing a mark has been left on them

I’m not sure about all the markings, but I think Malevola leaves rings of red paint around people’s waists or thighs from times she protectively, fondly wraps her tail around them

And since I love Robert so much, maybe a plot thread where the Z-Team realizes he leaves no marks and has none himself. Chase is the most upset by this because the mark he left is gone. Once they convince Robert to accept that he’s deserving of love, he’s steadily covered in soul paint

Dispatch AU (explained edition lol)

More of an explanation for this fic prompt Also this is a little long, maybe not for all of yall but ehh, had to get the brainworms out somehow

So the idea was that its centered around Robert, his father, and his grandfather. (Who I'm gonna call Robert/Blue, Robbie/Astral, and Bobby/Prime.) But also about Robert + Z-Team vs. Robbie and maybe Bobby.

Mimic and the FNG are literally just macguffins. Mimic to provide the fight and an overall looming threat to put extra stress on the cast and with the ability to steal powers, it makes nonpowered heroes more valuable. (Cough cough, mecha man.) The FNG is there to well... bring Robbie and Bobby to the present. I was thinking that maybe this rookie would be able to send them back in time but gets incapacitated, forcing everyone to deal with each other while they wake up from a coma or something. (Also im imagining FNG to be an ABSOLUTE FANGIRL to Mechaman(s).) Of course you could just have them invent time travel or fetch someone who sends stuff to the past.

Anywho... I imagine Prime and Astral got transported from when they were in their primes OR like, the day they died. And while its agreed that Robbie was a shit dad, we don't see that much of Bobby. So you could either take it that Bobby, A: pampered Robbie and generally took good care of him, but Robbie ended up becoming extremely focused on continuing his father's legacy which eventually evolved into his legacy and name, or B: Bobby was also a shit dad but perhaps in a more subtle way, which he passed onto Robbie.

If we go with A, I think Bobby and Robert would actually get along quite well, you have the guy who took a risk no one else was willing to (or able to, he was rich okay) and became this image of hope, and you have the guy who's continued that under extreme duress, working his ass off to be a hero, and isn't really recognized for it. Which I mean, come on, I'd love to see them in the field like that together.

If we go with B though... well then Robbie isn't alone in being a strict, abusive/neglectful asshole. You have these two Mecha Men who were both wildly successful and influential that when they look at Robert, just see all his mistakes. They look at his build and see him as weak, they look at his Mecha Man career and critique his method and focus on his failures, they see his scars and see him as worse, incompetent, foolish. A stain on their legacy.

And while Robbie here is the most straightforward with his disappointment and anger, berating Robert when the doors are closed, Bobby is on the side making underhanded comments and slights that hurt just as much. Disapproval from your father is one thing, but to get the same thing from the original Mecha Man? The blueprint? Devastating.

And the team/SDN doesn't really see this side of the three of them. Not until they glimpse through a crack in the door. The trio work like a well oiled machine out in the field with no issue, but the second they get back to base they are at each other's throats, whether that be degrading comments or a fist fight disguised as training... well, who's gonna know? (Z team, the z team will know ...and probably Galen lol)

the moment Robert steps foot into the local Torrance hospital, no matter time or day, he will immediately hear "ROBERT FUCKING ROBERTSON THE THIRD, IF YOU DON'T IMMEDIATELY GET YOUR ASS TO THE TRAUMA BAY-"

Additionally, the doctors and nurses at the hospital use him to haze the medical students and newbies because he was THAT much of a menace (frequent flyer)

Also if we stretch this a little bit, Robert and the staff are acquainted enough that if he got Beef before his coma then they were the ones to take care of him
