I remember reading some critic say that not every actor, even good-looking actors, can truly be sexy and smoldering. Sam Reid and imo Jacob Anderson can both REALLY do smoldering, and that's part of their chemistry.

There are few things I'm more excited about in life than the prospect of more scenes of Sam Reid and Jacob Anderson acting together. Also why does my autocorrect keep making Sam Reid into SAM REID. I appreciate the enthusiasm but I don't need to type it in caps every time.

The artistic director of Sydney Theatre Company, one of the world's most prestigious theatre companies, posted this about Sam Reid with the announcement of his role in doubt: "Incredible actor. Incredible jaw line." (he also said Sam has "incredible depth and charisma" which is true as well)

I love how feral so many ppl are about how gorgeous Sam is and his bone structure and all that. He and Jacob yesterday.... what stunningly beautiful, glowing faces.

Indiewire putting The Vampire Lestat on their "most anticipated" list of shows reminds me that their review of IWTV had one of my favorite descriptions ever of Sam Reid's brilliance.

Sam Reid having this beautiful a face, being that incredible an actor, having that beautiful a singing voice, having that shoulder-to-waist ratio.......god has favorites etc.

Also Sam Reid and Jacob Anderson are not only brilliant actors but somehow manage to have palpable chemistry even through a fake iPad screen. That's bananas. I don't know if that's them being incredible actors or the dialogue or the natural extreme power of their chemistry or all three. But wow. There are shows that don't work unless the two main actors have insane chemistry, and this is one of them, and hey they got two actors with some of the most insane chemistry of all time.

Also it's like they're maximizing Sam Reid's Renaissance beauty to make Lestat's crash out, drug-fueled horror-mess look an even stronger contrast, because he's never looked more like he just stepped out of a Botticelli portrait.

Louis and Lestat being so warm, sort of like they've gone back to their pre-Rue Royale best friend days but now with the inescapable pull of their physical attraction and all the weight of their love and their history. Only for all that to be shattered by the book because they've both tried not to have any difficult conversations about their past(s) and what they've hidden from each other....that's brilliant and so painful.

this show is so fucking lucky to have cast sam reid because the jump from iwtv to tvl can only work through the inexplicable power of lestat's charisma and sheer force of personality and they found seemingly the only person on the planet who can actually pull it off

You can definitely understand why Rolin and everyone else involved with the show is as insane about Sam as they are. Because yes, that transition from IWTV to TVL would be impossible for most actors to pull off, even with the groundwork laid by Rolin.

Sam Reid is somehow so pretty, so beautiful, and so handsome all at once. Rare to have a man be all three of those things, and to that extent. He's really a "the camera loves you" kind of face.

Sam Reid's voice is beautiful (love a full baritone), and the way Jacob in this interview went on about how awestruck the crew is by his singing and performing, with Jacob being so amazed too...I cannot wait. Also he looked so pretty in this interview it's absurd. Jacob too, despite no sleep.

Just coming back to how Sam Reid has one of the most beautiful male faces ever seen on screen if we're being real, and I love that an actor that beautiful, who could just play like "cute/hot guy" roles if he wanted, isn't afraid to go to ugly places. And I wonder if that was Rolin's initial "He's too handsome for Lestat!" reaction, because he thought someone who looked like that wouldn't be willing to go to extremes for Lestat. Little did he know lol.
