Please Help us Survive the Summer
Hi there again. I'm Casi. I'm a disabled Enby who is the only caregiver for my elderly disabled mother, and we're Homeless.
Mom is 70yrs old and has chronic bronchitis and arthritis and Mobility issues, and I'm chronically ill and multiply disabled myself. Where we live has already had multiple days of 105°F (40°C) temperatures throughout the Spring, its gonna be a hot summer. We cannot be on the Streets.
I have us in a Hotel because its the safest option for us. We have no family that can put us up for even a night and while I'm always on the lookout for outreach groups and programs we might qualify for, at this point we're on our own.[ and incredibly grateful for all the kind and generous support to help us through]
But the rates have gone up to Summer Prices which will make things a little more difficult than they already are. The Current rate is $98.30 a day / $688.03 a Week.
Moms Social Security is our only stable income apart from donations and my Redbubble and Ko-Fi shops where I sell my art. I've been looking for stable work but its always been a joke that there "more people than jobs" in this town and that's even truer now than ever, and without any transportation I can't even do Odd Jobs or Gigwork.[cant doordash on foot, can't to yardwork on the other side of town if I cant get myself there and back safely etc...]
Moms income will only cover 12 days of the month, and that's without putting any of that towards Meds or Groceries. We do get $290 SNAP/Food Stamps, on the 9th, but with the prices of everything between absofuckinglutly ridiculous, that too, only goes so far.
Literally Any Amount of Help would be incredibly appreciated. Really and Truly.

Wee superhero part 7
Read on ao3
Kara flew aimlessly through the cold air at top speed up near the atmosphere with no goal in mind. The image of herself kissing Lena haunted her each time she dared to slow down.
She had probably circled the globe a dozen times by the time she finally slowed down. She stopped noticing too far from National City, above a large city block that just lost its electricity. She relished the all encompassing darkness and took a seat at a nearby skyscraper.
“Not much for the view.” She really should've expected Mxy to appear, yet his voice still caught her off guard, making her jump in place.
“Did you do it?” She demanded the imp to spill. “You changed me – her?!”
“And what are you referring to?” He said in such a casual way she wanted to rip off his hair.
“What did you change in this time?” She asked again, hoping to sound more composed and in control.
He only eyed her figure in an obvious glare.
“Beside that.” Kara shouted in annoyance and averted her gaze into the dark surrounding.
“Nothing else.” He admitted with such an honest tone that Kara found it hard to dispute his words. “I can bring you back if you are displeased with the results. Try again.” He suggested.
Kara said nothing. Unsure how to really react. If this thing really was untampered by Mxy, would a different attempt create a different result? Would she manage to get a good one? Was this attempt even a good one? She figured she would have to wait it out to see.
how are you gonna be 31 and posting fandom content bro leave it to the teenagers
People 10 and 20 years older than me are writing your favorite fanfics, and drawing your favorite characters. You'd have no fandom without the people you think are 'too old' to have hobbies.
Who the heck do you think started modern day fandom with Star Trek? It sure wasn't teenagers.
Who do you think makes professional quality fanart and fanfic? People who've been practicing it for ten, fifteen, twenty years!
Or even people who've been practicing it for thirty, forty or fifty!!!!!
example: Diane Duane. Currently in her seventies. Star Trek fangirl since the original run. Goddess-level Ascended Fan who has created official tie-in works in more forms of media than pretty much anyone else alive, possibly even Rodenberry himself because they didn't have audiobooks or video games when he was with us. Writer of Spock's World, The Wounded Sky, Doctor's Orders in TOS. Co-writer of TNG script Where no one has gone before, and writer of the tie-in novel Dark Mirror among others. Writer of a half-dozen Star Trek Comics. She has adapted her own work for audio, has written for the Star Trek manga series, has written short Trek fiction for anthologies, and plotted and wrote the video game Star Trek: the Kobayashi Alternative.
In other fandoms, she was a personal friend of Terry Pratchett himself. As a scriptwriter, she's also worked in fandoms like Scooby-Doo, Transformers, My Little Pony, Gargoyles, Batman: The Animated Series, Spiderman: Unlimited (and a trilogy of tie-in novels still in print) and Barbie: Fairytopia. ...And that's just cherry-picking her imdb page.
While she can't give out specific details due to Obvious Reasons, she's still active in the Sherlock BBC fandom - and there's a specific subset of her fans who love guessing which of the legendary fanfics might be her work (I am not one of them, BTW, as it is None Of My Business. I'm old-school that way).
Fandom is not for teenagers. Fandom is for everyone of good heart and enthusiasm for a good (or even bad! No judgement!) story.
Just wait until you grow up, Anonymous OP. Wonder how long it'll take you to change your mind.
...Some days when you're feeling tired and sad, and wondering "what the hell is the point... why am I even bothering?"... it's nice to be reminded that you're supported.

“The Roman Catholic Parish in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan was just grafitted.”
Nah let’s post it. Let’s feel it. Don’t look away.
I notice alot of my followers on here skipping these posts just to mess with my lgbt ones, suspiciously the white popular ones.
Heres a not so friendly reminder, as an lgbt metis person, i dont give a single fuck what your blog is themed or if this is too painful for you to look at. Reblog this post. Reblog this post with the sources of the 751 children who were found.
Your compliance and silence as well as the compliance and silence of your ancestors is what allowed these schools to open and kill first nations children. The children of MY people.
Dont follow me if you cant reblog this post or the one with sources to your political blog or your most popular blog. Add trigger warnings if you must but if your political blog is only focused on the harms you personally face like being lgbt then you need to see some bigger pictures and stop being afraid of angering your racist mutural or actually saying some shit about racism. If you can reblog some antifa graphics or add blm to your bio to be a surface level ally, you can reblog some sources on the genocide first nations people faced and still face today.
They were CHILDREN.
They were murdered in cold blood.
I’d like to add this photo I took last night in Victoria of the statue of Captain Cook. Though I myself am not indigenous, I 100% agree that these murderers, kidnappers and rapists shouldn’t have huge statues and plaques that decorate them and say how “great” they were.
Here’s another photo of the legislative assembly from yesterday. Later on there were more items, candles and signs at the memorial, as well as a big poster with 1505 painted on it but I didn’t get a picture
People need to see this. Not just quickly glance at the photos and keep on scrolling. They need to see this.
Reblog this or just stop following me
I had seen the first picture of the church, but not the second.
I went to a “Cancel Canada Day” event and burst into tears - not because I was surprised to learn of the unmarked graves (survivors told us they were there. Our government pushed it aside, and we let them), but because seeing all the people gathered in mourning drove it home: They. Were. Children.
This is my country’s legacy - and it’s not history. The last schools closed during my lifetime. My Father went to school with students who lived at the local residential school, after it was changed to a boarding house (read: holding centre) for indigenous youth who went to local schools.
They were all children, injured, abused, and killed in my country’s attempt to erase them. I want the world to see this and hold the state accountable to *active* reconciliation> I mean we could at least truly adopt UNDRIP in action instead of words for god’s sake.
here you can read an article about a survivor of the church and some of the things he experienced to help put into perspective how awful and just how recent it was
this is the memorial at the vancouver art gallery. 215+ pairs of children’s shoes (as well as stuffed toys and flowers) cover the steps…

We're having a Jazzy July here at the Prompt Foundry in 2026!
Sit down at the bar or the piano, grab a drink or a dance partner, and let the music move you!
Feel free to combine different days’ prompts with each other, or combine them with other events, like last year's Dancing In December for a little music-and-dance double feature, or Aug-UST (Unresolved Sexual Tension) from 2024 to really plus up the sensual potential. Draw, paint, sculpt, sing, write fiction, write poetry, write academic analysis—use your OCs, your favorite characters from media, your own experiences, whatever tickles your fancy.
If you use this list, please tag me here @thepromptfoundry, I’d love to see what you create!
Respond to as many prompts as you want or as interest you, don’t worry about missing or skipping any, or posting your work after the day the prompt is assigned to. Remember, this is supposed to be fun!
If you have any questions or musings, check our FAQ, and if you don’t find your answer, shoot me an ask.

A more concise final June Update:
Room paid for until June 28th
Reservation for the week of June 28th - July 5th Made and Paid
Mom gets paid again July 1st
Thank you all so very much for helping us make it through this month. Happy Pride and I Hope July is super nice for us all!
Addendum: Foods getting Low again :( if anyone could spare a little.... I know its hella rough out here for us all and I'm so fucking appreciative I really really am.
I want to boost everything this person has said and add on.
The reason I call myself a tomboy now, despite it being seen as a childish word and having had someone swear at me over it because ‘tHeRe’S nO suCh thInG as BoY thInGs anD giRL thIngS sHut uP’ is because I couldn’t call myself that or be like that when I was a kid. It was seen as a negative thing and I was already bullied enough. “Looking like a boy” was the worst thing that could happen to a girl.
And I’m not even 26 yet. We aren’t talking 30+ years ago, we are talking 2000s and even 2010s. It’s only since trans people have become more accepted in the past few years that gender nonconformity has too.
And the people who helped me accept my gender nonconformity more than anyone else? Were trans people. They taught me, “there’s nothing wrong with how you feel. You’re still a valid woman no matter what you wear, how you have your hair or what you’re into ❤️”
And don’t even get me started on how people treat gender nonconforming men. JK Rowling has a lot of nerve to be like “uwu boys can wear dresses and only us gendercrits accept that!” when she has, even in recent works, made femininity in men a negative trait, as well as making masculinity in women a negative trait also.
A lot of people still don’t accept gnc people even now. Just last year I had someone tell me they’d never let their daughter “dress like a boy”, and I’m always terrified to walk into a bathroom in case the next JK Rowling is in there, sees my gender expression and pepper sprays me or worse.
“There’s no such thing as boy things and girl things.” I don’t need to be told that and I’m sure 99% of trans people also don’t need to be told that. Tell that to the society that hates us both instead of actively encouraging that hate.
Gonna point out the og tweet thread is now full of terfs saying that life was better for gay people in the fucking 80s, that it was super easy for them to be a tomboy in the 70s and 80s and therefore it must have been that way for everyone, and that it was totally acceptable to be a gnc gay person in the 80s! 🤪
They’re rewriting history as we speak to try to argue trans acceptance is making it harder to be gay and gnc for youth than it was to be gay in the 80s. This is a blatant lie.
The fucking 80s??? As in, “aids crisis” 80s?? As in, “the government actively avoided funding research to help gay people” 80s????
Man I knew terfism was brain rot but I didn’t think it was this bad.
Actually I'm not going to just keep this in the tags
as someone who was there that is finest grade bullshit
Hurt/Comfort Dialogue Prompts

“Sure, you can use me as a pillow.”
“I’d come for you. No matter what, when you need me, I will be there.”

“This is not who you are. I know you better than that.”
“I know, it hurts. I’m so sorry, but we have to get this out.”
“You can hold my hand.”
“The nightmares are just an illusion. I’m really here.”
“Tell me to stay and I will be here for as long as you’ll have me.”

“I want you to know that it’s okay to cry.”
“Take all the time you need.”
“If you feel safer with me being there, you know I will always be there.”
“Just look at me. Forget everything else.”
“They won’t take you away from me ever again.”

This is just to let everybody know that for Pride Month of 2026, the Ebooks Direct Pride Package has been really ridiculously discounted.
...From the product page:
This package contains all our Middle Kingdoms material—some of the first LGBTQ-representing epic fantasy in the 20th-century fantasy field, now continuing into the 21st. It also contains the matter-of-fact exit from the (contextual) closet of two of the best-loved characters in the Young Wizards universe—Advisory wizards Tom Swale and Carl Romeo, on their first canonically-"out" venture as a couple. The main part of the collection spans more than forty years, from the publication of Diane Duane's two-time Astounding Award finalist The Door Into Fire, first published in 1979, through its main-sequence sequels (both also Gaylaxic Spectrum Awards Hall of Fame winners) The Door Into Shadow and The Door Into Sunset, to 2018's and 2019's interstitial Tales of the Five novels, The Levin-Gad and The Landlady. The collection also includes such otherwise hard to find short works as the romantasy-adjacent novelette Lior and the Sea and the two current volumes of the "Sirronde's World" group, The Span and Parting Gifts.* And finally, it also includes the Middle Kingdoms novelette Overdue (Tales of the Middle Kingdoms #2), and the short Young Wizards work Owl Be Home For Christmas.
All that for $19.99? Seriously, I need my head felt! So please go validate my mental state by buying the package.
And happy Pride!
(Meanwhile, the project for the course of the month is to put all the major queer, bi, and/or ace characters in my various series into that shot. Just added: Mevraen, Wyn and Eftgan. Now to get Lissa and Matt and Matt's boyfriend in there...) 😏
(And the usual sorrowful reminder: With regret, we must remind any UK viewers of this product that, due to Brexit, we can no longer sell ebooks directly into the UK. Our apologies.)
*Before you ask: The Span is "Sirronde's World #1": Parting Gifts is "Sirronde's World #3." Due to timeline continuity and spoiler issues, part 2 has not yet been written. Thanks for your understanding.
