Oppositeshipping ice emperor
I wrote this after putting the kids I was babysitting to bed. It sucks, itās unfinished, and a little unserious. Once I finish it Iāll post it on Ao3 or something :D
How long has it been days weeks he couldnāt remember all he knew was it was so so cold. Kai knelt in the dark cell the cold washing over him like a plate in a dishwasher. It was silent his teeth had stopped chattering as now his jaw felt frozen shut. If only Kai had his powers even before this they were weak but after being in the cold for so long his powers had left him again.
Kai having grown up in a really warm part of ninjago he never seemed to experience actual freezing temperatures. It was pathetic the elemental master of fire couldnāt even summon enough of his own element to ease his frigid pain.
Thereās was the sound of a heavy knock on Kaiās cells door. The sound of a metal key was inserted into the lock and it opened to show two of the emperors ice guards. They stepped into the room and over to Kaiās curled up self. The first guard spoke up as the other moved closer Kai and taking off his chains that keeps him from moving or fully standing up.
āthe ice Emperor has requested you to see him.ā The second guard had released him from his cuffs and had pulled him to his feet.
Kai didnāt answer he kept his head down he knew ninja never quit but he had at that point, he lost his boyfriend had no idea where the rest of the ninja were or if they were even okay
he had been in that prison for long enough he forgot what day it was all he knew was he wanted to leave this arctic hell hole but now his dreams were mocked in front of his face as he was dragged out of his cell only to be his with more steely air from the hallway as they dragged him stumbling and tripping as Kaiās feet were not used to walking after being immobile during the unaccounted stretch of time from when he saw his friends to now
Kai closed his eyes during the walk and only opened them when he felt himself being dropped on the carpeted floor before the stairs leading up to the emperors thrown. Kai strained his neck to look up and the leader who had caused all of this shit they had only come to find Zane not to die slow painful deaths assuming thatās what Kai was here for to be ended by the ice emperor himself his head fell back down he didnāt even want to look at his killer
Frankly Kai didnāt care he lost the only people he cared for death didnāt seem like such a bad idea he couldnāt even use his power this place had seemed to suck every ounce of his flame out of him leaving him but as a frozen shell taking not just his physical firepower but also the flames he held in his eyes all had been extinguished when Kai had finally come to terms with his boyfriend being dead
The loud stomps of the ice emperor coming down the stairs is the only things that intercepted the former elemental master of fires train of thought he was to tired to even lift his head he just wanted this to all end
Kai felt nothing when a cold no a frozen metal hand lifted up his head and he made eye contact with the emperor solid icy blue eyes
Kaiās stomach did a flip he wanted to throw up he knew those eyes those eyes use to be so kind hiding the knowledge of the whole universe the ones who use to look at Kai with utmost love and admiration but now they held nothing in their gaze as they started at him. Kai couldnāt believe it with all his mind he didnāt but his heart wanted it to be true for those eyes where..Zaneās
A tear ran down Kaiās face before it froze on his cheek his face couldnāt move none of him could he was in shock not even a word could escape his mouth he could only stare into those eyes whatever this trick was he wanted it to stop it hurt to much for him to handle
āMaster of fire they say? I donāt see any fire in this one.ā The ice emperors voice was deep and glacial āHis lips are blue he has succumb to the temperatures of this land not even the the one born with the head in them can defy my power.ā
Kai didnāt recognize that voice it was not the one of his but maybe this is what happens to someone after being stuck here for who knows how long Kai used all his power to keep his neck up to look at those eyes.
āZ-zane..?ā His voice was unsure but he knew he was right.
The ice emperor slammed his staff he was holding into the ground the palace seemed to shake at this sudden reaction.
āI AM THE ICE EMPEROR ADDRESS ME AS SUCH!ā His frozen hand came back and smashed itself against Kaiās cheek his body crumbled and he crashed to the ground he stayed their not moving before Kai felt something he hadnāt felt in a long time a fiery burn that seemed to energize what little will he had left as he shakily stood from the ground and lifted his head desperate to look at those damned eyes.
āNo you are Zane!ā His voice was more sure less shaky filled with more determination to get through to him. āThatās why this place is frozen itās cause thatās your element how did we not figure this out before!?ā
The ice emperor well just Zane didnāt reply instead he looked like he wanted to end Kaiās life instead he slammed that staff down again commanding the two ice soldiers that brought Kai before him in the first place.
The soldiers starting moving immediately charging at Kai who was still majorly out of energy forgetting all of his earlier thoughts this couldnāt be the end for him not when he was this close to getting Zane back.
