here is my drawing for my anniversary:"))🥳🥳 a year ago today in my instagram stories i shared my first drawing of the onceler, and i didn't share it beyond my stories out of shame....but look, in the end i ended up here jsjdjs and i am very happy

i wanted to make a fanart that focused on the Onceler, yk he was the reason i entered in HIS fandom JAKSJSJSJ, but i ended up deciding to make a drawing with other things that i love about the movie and i said "why don't i draw myself in truffula valey?"

i really love the conceptual art of the movie, the animals and other things haha, it really makes me want to live there, everything looks so awesome and peaceful

join the fandom was a big step for me and something that brought me many good things, one of them and the most important was being able to meet each of the people i have interacted with :") i really appreciate you guys and i appreciate that you like it what i do💖

Onceler Analysis(?)

Been thinking about this dude a lot like ALOT recently. We all know his family left without hesitation with his business gone bust, but before they leave,Onceler’s mom tells him he is no longer her favourite child.

Can you see his brothers’ faces? Do you think they do not approve their mothers quick switch up from their brother to another one of them?

It was only a matter of time that one of them would eventually “let her down”.

See I can’t tell if Chett feels sympathy for Onceler or if he feels sad that he isn’t his mother’s favourite and Brett is. Either way they surely would realise that their mothers actions weren’t exactly right? I mean after all I know their relatively dumb but not that dumb that not only was Onceler treated terribly but possibly they was as well.

I think they acted that way towards him so that they would get their mothers approval and not be scolded or neglected since really all they had is their mom.

Maybe Isabella(?) is this way towards Onceler than the twins more than anything is because maybe he reminds her of his dad I mean he doesn’t really look like his brothers does he? Or his uncle not his mom or anyone in his family for that matter so maybe she feels uprooted by the fact her child looks like the man who isn’t or was never there.

I really have so much empathy for this man, he was never truly loved or appreciated. He never had a family and for the rest of his young adult life he was alone and isolated, he lived in regret and guilt for probably 40 years maybe? What did he wonder?

“What if I didn’t cut down the trees?”

“Why did they all leave?”

“What did I do to my mom?”

After his quick shine to fame he was forgotten, he was just the Get rich quick millionaire with the new invention and it was only a matter of time before that went bust and a new person was on the scene for that.

I always wonder what he’d be like as a husband. I’d like to think he’d either be the romantic, spoils his wife type and takes her out to dinner or he’d be neglectful in his wealth era to her, gives her money but not the time of day, distant but I don’t think he’d cheat either because it’s ‘morally’ wrong to him but he thinks that his business is more important then she would be at that point. Either way it’s something to think about even though he isn’t shown to have any romantic tendencies in the movie but it’s just a scenario.

sorry I just find it hilarious that we as a fandom collectively obsess over a capitalist with mommy issues and is miserable for most of his life. And we decided he’s a tumblr sexyman (which I agree) but it’s not even that I find funny😭😭 it’s the fact he had 10 minutes of screen time and we all thought “You know what? He’s the next guy we’ll all go crazy for, for like 11 years.” Sorry I needed to voice that rq and I actually thought it would worded better. 🤷🏻‍♀️
