"I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong" 2 Corinthians 12:10 I'd like to take time and talk about #NEDAwareness week, which is something I try to be somewhat active in each other but, sometimes life catches up and one finds themselves distracted and now I'm a week behind. Nonetheless..... As many of you know, my junior and senior year in high school I suffered from an eating disorder. These are at the least years I still openly admit to. What I do not mention I that I STILL suffer from an eating disorder 5 years later. For those of you who understand an eating disorder it is not something that can just go away over night. It's a struggle that most of us will carry for the rest of our lives. It's a mentality that eats away at us in our darkest moments of life when we need it least and affects us daily. This year has been harder than most. I've been stressed with school, commuting back and forth and graduation. I've been stressed about what the future holds for me. I've been stressed about my boyfriend moving away. And all of these daily stressors begin to percolate inside and I begin to let the stress out on my body. See my body as the ONE thing I control. It's the one thing I can hold myself accountable if I let it go.... Control... Control is what is behind all of my inner struggles. Control is what limits me to all of my potential. Control is what I lose when something goes wrong. Control is what sends me into those darker moments of my life. "I AM strong because I've been weak." I liked this idea behind 2 Corinthians 12:10. For, I am now openly struggling with a daily battle. I no longer consider myself vulnerable for the things that are beyond my control. Because of my faith and most importantly my friends and family this is no longer something I have to face alone and I thank them and love them every day. My weaknesses make me stronger and I want and invite everyone's to do the same for them. #transformationtuesday #NEDAwareness
