I was so ready to be in love with Mile End Kicks, but now that I've watched it, I have a lot of critiques on the way they handled certain things and I can't say I loved it.

Very good, love Barbie Ferreira and Devon Bostick, but I don't think the writer got the right message across...

Lorelai wants to live through Rory so much it makes me sad.

The only reason Rory wanted to go to Harvard was because of her mother. Yes, she, too, had ambitions and did want to go to Harvard, but Lorelai fueled this. Because Lorelai never want to college, she wanted Rory to go to the best one (in her opinion.) She also wanted to be defiant because Harvard is Yale’s rival, and Richard went to Yale. She wanted to spite her parents (regardless of if it was intentional or subconscious of her.)

Lorelai wanted Rory to stay with Dean because she considered him a sensible boyfriend that Lorelai wishes she would’ve had at Rory’s age, who cares what Rory thinks? The only reason Rory strung Dean on for some long when she had feelings for Jess was because of her mother. Lorelai wanted a stable relationship with a reliable, nice boyfriend and she saw Dean as this.

Rory is impressionable and a people pleaser; she loves her mother and will do anything to make her happy/anything she tells her to do. And don’t get me wrong, I love Lorelai. I do. It’s just sad at times to see Lorelai do this.
