Rami invited Joe to Oscar parties 🥰

YES I SAW THAT AND IM SOFT. joe getting a call from rami, who’s hiding out in the bathroom of some fancy schmancy party going like “pls help me there are people here who keep trying to talk to me” so joe just scrambles into his “emergency tux” that he keeps on hand for whenever rami needs him to come rescue him from these types of situations (which is often) and tells rami to text him the address. and as soon as joe gets to the venue rami’s already waiting outside for him to pull him into a massive hug, ushering him inside with the happiest lil “he’s with me” before the guard at the front can even begin to look at the guest list.

and rami’s never comfortable at these kinds of things, never, the unspoken expectation for him to network and people-please just to stay afloat in this industry makes him too anxious to even be able to pretend he’s having a good time, but then joe is there (just like he promised he always would be) and there’s a warm hand on his shoulder or on his back or - very briefly, almost imperceptibly - in his own, and it’s like rami’s lungs could function again, like his heart could finally climb down from where it had been lodged in his throat for the past 3 hours. so they talk and they laugh and they sit in the back and drink enough champagne to make vanity fair regret having an open bar, and in the morning when rami wakes up in a hotel room he doesn’t remember going back to with a drooling redhead in a wrinkled tux snoring peacefully beside him, he just smiles and curls closer into his warmth, quietly thanking joe for making sure they at least took their shoes off this time and letting the faint smell of the man’s cologne lull him back to sleep.

You know that story Rami has about how someone left his house wearing the original Elliot hoodie and how he was frantic about getting it back? WHAT IF THAT PERSON WAS JOE.

SDSJHKDSHS joe snags it out of the closet on his way to the grocery story bc it’s a bit chilly out, and he’s standing in the soup aisle when rami calls him. and rami NEVER calls, it’s always texts with him, so immediately joe is #panicked when he answered and rami’s #panicked voice rings out before he’s even said hello and the boy’s talking a mile a minute and joe barely makes out the words “missing” and” wardrobe’s gonna kill me” and “shoulda kept it in my trailer” before he finally figures it out. and rami’s too relieved to be properly upset but joe feels awful so he makes sure to pick up a bottle of wine and rami’s favorite ice cream before he heads home.

Let’s also consider how when Rami gets the Elliot hoodie back, it smells like Joe and it distracts him when he has to wear it on set that first day back. So Rami steals one of Joe’s USC hoodies in retaliation. But it backfires because Rami finds the hoodie incredibly comfortable and it also still smells like Joe so he never wants to stop wearing it. He wears it on the plane from NY to LA and when Sami comes to pick him up from the airport he just sighs and is like “you’re so ridiculous”. Joe, meanwhile, is delighted by this turn of events.
