Hes a little slimeball, I call him rigg because of his tendency to try and 'improve' basic stuff via tech, his toaster talks and his brother cant stand it. Big into robots and programming, socially inept, suspiciously friendly, and tends to zone out. Specially when hes bored

was joking thinking about throwing Fresh into the Bad Sanses as a joke, just to surround Horror with more people who are losing grip on their own mind and body and then I thought

Fresh could actually work in weird way?

So Fresh canonically only really feels fear (i'm ignoring the love ball and events after rn). he's all survival based, the whole friendly happy guy is all a front to appear non-threatening in the best way he can while also having zero idea what monster/human culture is actually like. Nightmare would be able to see through that immediately, which would normally just making him absolutely terrifying to Fresh. BUT if Nightmare played his cards right, he could totally play Fresh's fears against him. Nightmare knows what he is, and he's the only being that accepts him. The only being that will take him in and ultimately protect him.

Nightmare doesn't want every universe destroyed, a dead universe doesn't produce negative emotions, but having some guy come and rip a vital guy out for a while and return them in who knows what state? Actually pretty damn useful. Benefits both parties a hell of a lot actually. Fresh pretty much gets to do what he usually does, hopping around universes and swapping hosts whenever he needs, but now with someone at his back to point at a fresh target and a team to back him up if things get hairy. Course, that does mean making enemies of the Star Sanses which paint a big target on his back. Then again, would a being like Ink, the guy who wants to keep every universe on track, really like a universal parasite messing them up? Would Dream be okay with Fresh saying his survival is more important when he can feel the suffering and agony clear as day? Would Blue be okay with Fresh if he... Maybe was one of his past victims?

The rest of Nightmare's gang may not especially like Fresh's whole shtick, but they're all also putting up some pretty big fronts for their own survival anyway, and doing way worse for far less. There's a weird mutual understanding and respect to be had there. Not like Fresh is malicious when he doesn't need to be at least.

just realized that between Killer, Horror, Dust, and occasionally Cross, Horror is the only one who doesn't have some hallucination/possession shit going on. everyone else is struggling to keep control of their own mind and body but not Horror. he's the most in control of all of them. he chooses to be like that
