*tucks hair behind ear* spicy western!fine wine, you say?
OKAY OKAY SO I HAVE A FEW IDEAS
Suggestive under the cut. Minors look away
The first one is their first time. This comes after a series of erotic dreams the both of them have of each other--Muginga's stemming from watching Dionicio work and Dionicio's from his romance novels.
Second one is during a business trip. After sitting through several meetings, Muginga is tired and in need of some R&R (rest and relaxation). This one is more about Dio and his body worship kink.
Third is them on a little vacation. They go up to a mansion Muginga got in the divorce for a getaway. This time, it's her turn to make him feel good.
Last but not least is their wedding night. Muginga was raised with the idea that a man and a woman must consummate their marriage the night of. While she's confident since her and Dionicio have been doing it for a few months at this point, she's still a little nervous.
So @opalofoctober came up with a Western AU for Fine Wine and me being who I am was legally obligated to write something about it.
Muginga stared at the vast property from the verandah. A farm was the last thing she expected to be getting in the divorce. She didn't know the first thing about running one, let alone farming. The land had to be at least sixty or more acres. From what was told to her, her ex husband grew mostly tobacco as part of a secret side business.
Muginga didn't know whether to consider this a blessing or a curse. However, she was determined to make things work. She couldn't just abandon the land. Yes there's a lot to do but it's still her responsibility at the end of the day.
She walked into the office and grabbed a pen and a sheet of paper. Though she shouldered the burden of the place, she also knew it'd be foolish for someone with her lack of experience to be out in the fields.
Three days later
The sun beamed down on Dionicio the longer he traveled up the long road. He took in the beauty of the open country around him. Rolling hills gave way to forests. Sometimes he'd look up to see a majestic bird flying above. Miss Kuanja picked a wonderful place to have a ranch. Speaking of, he spotted the iron gates that looked better suited for a fortress than a ranch. One door was open, allowing him to pass through with ease.
His attention went to the house--a stately, two storey estate. The outside, made with a combination of stone and wood, beared the markings of an expert craftsman. A veranda stretched along the upper portions of the house. A wide porch overlooked the entrance.
A woman wrapped in a plain cream colored shawl sat in a rocking chair. Her sunhat blocked his view of her face.
Dionicio got off his horse and walked up to the porch. "Señora Kuanja?"
The woman looked up. "Yes."
Dionicio found himself breathless. Nzinga's words failed to capture the beauty of this woman. The ringlets in her hair accentuated the beauty of her brown skin. Deep mahogany painted her lips, making the cupid's bow of her upper lip more noticeable. Her face didn't display her age yet she had a refined aura about her.
Every word that came out of his mouth was reduced to unintelligible gibberish. Not the best first impression for a potential employer.
"Are you thirsty?" Muginga asked. "Come in. I'll prepare some lemonade."
Dionicio accepted her invitation without a second thought. The inside was as regal as the exterior. Rich, jewel toned colors adorned the walls of the rooms he'd seen so far. He did notice a lack of decorations, though. A woman of Muginga's means should have all kinds of art on the walls.
He sat at the table--which looked like it belonged in a castle--while Muginga disappeared into the kitchen. He wondered why there weren't any servants. Most ranches like this had an army of staff at the ready.
Muginga came back with two glasses and a pitcher full of ice cold lemonade. This gave him a chance to notice the short white gloves she wore, and how tall she was.
"Forgive me for not introducing myself. My name is Muginga Kuanja."
"Thank you," he said once his cup was full. "I'm Dionicio Fuentes."
"You're the one who answered the job listing, yes?" Muginga sat across from him. The raspy softness of her voice gave him the impression she didn't talk a lot. "I appreciate you coming here. I feared the listing would go unanswered."
The conversation switched from exchanging pleasantries to the details of his work. "The main crop grown here is tobacco but I do wish to expand to others. Perhaps even acquire livestock."
Dionicio nodded. "How many acres?"
"At least 70 acres from what I was told. Come."
Muginga and Dionicio headed outside to survey the property. Sure enough, a large portion of it was the aforementioned tobacco. But there was also a decent amount left for her plans. But even that didn't stop him from staring at her. A beauty like her being a recluse. According to Nzinga, her older sisters rarely, if ever, made public appearances, leading to rumors and speculation about them. Some of the townsfolk even tried to dissuade him from taking the job because they heard rumors about Muginga being a mad woman.
Instead what he found was a beautiful yet isolated woman from the deep loneliness he saw in her eyes. The man in him wanted to take her into his arms and whisper sweet nothings into her ear.
"You start tomorrow. I will a room prepared for you by then. Please bring whatever you will need," Muginga said as they walked back to the house. She was able to get a better look at him. Under his hat was a mane full of dark curly hair. His eyes, despite sharing the same color, were full of light. His facial hair was sparse, patchy even yet it looked beautiful on him.
"Of course."
A spark passed between them when their eyes locked. A different kind of heat rose--one kindling desire. They silently stared at each other for a few more moments before Muginga finally broke contact.
"I-I shall, um, prepare your room. You start at sunrise and end at sunset. There is no need to pay for your board."
Dionicio, still reeling from the spark, watched her hurry off. They only just met and he already had a new perspective of her; not just as his future boss, but as a woman.
When he got back to his horse, something compelled him to look up. And sure enough, Muginga was watching him from the window. He tipped his hat and mounted Fénix, his horse. Taking one last look at her, he then rode off.
Muginga let out a breath that'd been hitched in her throat since she practically ran back inside. Why was a man she just met already having this type of effect on her? The worse part? She never reacted this way around her ex husband.
To distract us from the recent events, please tell me more about that Fine Wine Western AU bc you were cooking with grease with that
On it boss 🫡
When the job listing is posted in the local town square, nobody's too keen on taking the job, since Muginga rarely made a public appearance, if ever.
Finally, Nzinga brings it up in conversation one day with Dionicio, and he ends up taking up the job.
When he arrives to Muginga's ranch the next day, he's starstruck by her beauty and trips over his words as he introduces himself.
Dionicio sometimes brings a couple of people to help, but he works by himself most of the time.
Sometimes Muginga will watch Dionicio from her porch (to supervise, she tells herself) and becomes flustered at the sight of him working.
He's surprised by her lack of worldly experience (her ex husband never took her anywhere that wasn't business-related, if at all) and takes her to the saloon and riding on his horse to the edges of town.
One night, he takes her to his favorite stargazing spot. As he's yapping about the constallations and their stories, Muginga takes off Dionicio's hat, silencing him. It doesn't take long for them to finally kiss and make out.
Other Details
The Fuentes family are ranchers that help out other farmers with their cattle.
Dionicio looks the same as he does in canon, only this time he actually has a trusty horse instead of a motorcycle.
So I may have spent the past few days writing this...
