Icewing headcanons

They have antlers because I think it looks cool, both males and females have them all year round. Their "fur" is more like quills than actual fur but it can still be dyed and some Icewings dye their fur either for holidays or sometimes to be rebellious. They have serrated/ sharp claws to hold on to icy ground or permafrost ground/dirt They have a lot of fur and body mass so they stay warm in the cold environments. Some ice wings closer to the Sandwing desert have less fur than the ones farther north.

I think it would be cool if an Icewing could make themselves slightly pink if they ate a lot of shrimp/krill. Imagine a bunch of Icewing dragonets eat a lot of shrimp/krill and dye their fur pink for a trend.

I might start a thing where I draw all my stuffed animals/plushies as wings of fire dragons. I have a lot of stuffed animals so it would be time consuming but I think it would still be cool.

I think in my wof rewrite cricket does not start out as good of a dragon as in the books. she's not mysteriously unaffected by her tribe's propaganda. Her and Blue meet because he coincidentally ends up in the same hiding place from the hivemind as her, and she offers her help in a panic, believing a SilkWing wouldn't hesitate to give her up if he was caught, especially if she didn't offer something in return. Over the course of the hive queen, she begins to realize that silkwings are just the same as her and the HiveWings.

I like this concept a lot, I remember when I was younger reading the books I found it incredibly odd how cricket didn’t really believe in the propaganda at all bc when you are raised in an environment that will spread propaganda about something everywhere, you’re going to have a really high chance of also believing the propaganda so I like the idea that she was helping out of fear instead
