I can't stop thinking about how Bilbo was constantly screaming inside during Thorin's dragon sickness. I'm sure Thorin asked Bilbo to stay while everyone was searching for the Arkenstone. He would have told Bilbo how much he was comforting him, while Bilbo... stood there crying inside with that fucking stone in his pocket. His face was saying, "Fuck, fuck, FUCK. I'm going to die here... I survived a dragon, and I'm going to die because of a trinket."
You know, for a long time I thought the statements about Thorin calling gold their joint treasurer with Bilbo were somewhat far-fetched, but then I thought and... But it's true. It makes sense. In the sense that he calls not only people traitors, but also his own relatives. He suspects everyone. Except for Bilbo. That is, in the midst of his illness, when greed makes Thorin want to start a war, he gives Bilbo a chainmail that is second only to Arkenstone in value. I just read one post where someone hates the Bagginshields. He was very subjective and had a number of inconsistencies, but he helped formulate something that I often don't like when reading most fanfiction with them.
