sometimes i am just in awe at how much the last of us show fucked up in season 2. you go from a near perfect retelling of the game to ellie being infantilized past the point of recognition. to her trauma being dumbed down. don’t even get me STARTED on making abby petite. because.. what, people didn’t like that she wasn’t “sexy”? that she had used her own trauma to build her body and became a machine? it’ll make how deteriorated she looks at the end mean absolutely nothing.

evermore sounds like the three weeks between thanksgiving and christmas

while i am loving the last of us season two i find some things weird. i have always been tlou2 defender and especially a defender of abby but in the show it feels different? i miss the pure rage she had. this huge woman, big enough to go head to head with joel and be a daunting figure was so important. that’s kinda lost in the show. her motives are just.. spelled out. right there.

game abby was just so complicated!! it took time getting to know her, to dig in deep through her trauma. there’s no mystery. no intimidation. while the actress did do great it’s just a far cry and lacks a back bone the game had.
