I get really confused when americans, when talking about universal health care are like ‘yeh but it’s not free sweaty :) :) you have to pay it through taxes :) so gotcha!!’

and I’m like ….???? That’s the whole point??? Everyone pays their fair share so that no one has to be turned away because they don’t have insurance??? And no one has to set up a Fundraiser page just so that they DONT DIE???? So people don’t put off going to the doctor because they’re scared of going bankrupt?? Because healthcare is a RIGHT and should be free at the point of access?!?

How I used The Flash to help improve my sisters mental health. 

For 10 years of my life I have dedicated myself and my time to being a carer for my sister. I volunteered at 17 to quit college and help my sister who was obviously very lost and very ill. None of my friends and even family could understand our family dynamic but I saw it as a challenge. I promised my sister I would never leave her behind and as a family we look out for each other, doing whatever we can to help out.

In those 10 years I have learnt allot about mental health and while I may not have mental health problems so I stress to people that I do not know how it feels, I do have a close relationship to the effects of mental illness. My sister has been through many different aspects of mental Illness. Shes felt everything from being euphoric, hyper, believing she could fly to suicidal thoughts, having voices, seeing people and things that are not there, conspiracies, intrusive thoughts that have caused her to lose her appetite for weeks as well as many other symptoms.

There is one mental health issue that is the sneakiest of them all, it can come out in many different ways and hide its self and disguise its self as sadness or anger until its ready to hit and destroy my sisters whole world in one powerful hit...
