because of the tumblr update scare a bit ago that broke reblogs, i ended up setting up another account where you can find me at if i end up moving off of tumblr

i’m on bluesky at @owllover2319.bsky.bark.wolp.chat, but where im actually at is Wafrn, all my posts there just also post on bluesky. if you just use bluesky though it should still all look the same as a regular bluesky account, i can see comments and replies and etc.

Wafrn is a social media site that’s set up to mimic how tumblr works, that’s why im interested in it. right now im just kind of messing around to see if I like it as an alternative. it connects to both bluesky and the fediverse (a bunch of different social medias that can interact with each other, the only one I’d heard of before looking into this was Mastadon)

it really is kind of interesting how attached people are to the idea of the improvised line and the genuine reaction in film. nearly every single famous moment or line has some sort of claim floating around that it wasn't in the script and was either made up on the spot by an actor or was sprung as a surprise on the actors to get their 'real' reaction. you know, sometimes people do come up with good lines in advance and write them down, and sometimes people can pretend to be have a convincing emotional response on screen

My wife pointed out to me the other day that apparently most people were literally only taught how to say Sorry and not how to Apologize or even that they are different things so here.

If all you ever do is step 1, not only did you not apologize, but people will rightfully stop believing you and start getting pissed or hurt.

just found out one of my best friends irl is a system ! she's known for over half a decade but she only just found the means to let me know. you know how prevalence of this type of existence is estimated to be roughly as common as redheads, if not more? IT'S TRUE. you could be interacting with systems every day!!!! Another one for Inuit artists is Piqsiq! Two sisters who’ve been doing traditional throat singing since they were kids. They make some really gorgeous, eerie, atmospheric stuff. Highly recommend watching this video of them performing live a cappella using a looping machine, because they might be the coolest people on the planet actually

For anyone into North Asian and Central Asian folk music, there's this incredible Siberian folk-pop band called Otyken! The group is mostly women and they're from multiple indigenous groups in Siberia, with songs being sung in their range of different languages. They're so much fun and their music videos are amazing!

i'll go ahead and recommend The Halluci Nation (formerly known as A Tribe Called Red), an EDM group from First Nations Ontario that do really cool fusions of First Nations music with dubstep, moombahton, and hip hop.

Haven't seen Belle Sisoski here yet so here we go: she's the current Artist of Year for BURO impact Awards. She's from Malaysia and knows how to play an insane amount of ethnic instruments and mixes them with her own voice. She does covers and her own songs, mixes ethnic instruments with Techno and shows the process. And she's also a live DJ at 19!
