Main Character Arc Summaries
wrote up some pretty succinct arc summaries so why not post it here
In an alternate timeline with superheroes and stuff, goes by the hero codename "Monster Boy" and is on a team with Silvester and Eiri. They bicker like siblings but they're a tight group that have worked together for a couple years.
Winn and Silvester have bonded over both living in the shadows of their successful superhero parents. Winn and Eiri have bonded over being neurodivergent, unsupported, and lacking the language to describe it.
In his free time he's a fan of puzzles like Rubik's Cubes. Also plays bass guitar maybe.
Early into the story Winn sort of accidentally befriends the local supervillain Contradiction after saving their life. Probably because Contradiction knows a trans egg when they see one. Though labeled as a supervillain they are obviously much more complex and morally gray.
Contradiction exposes Winn to a lot of new ideas about gender and what it means to be a hero and a good person.
Eventually all three team members are too stressed out by their unmet needs and they have a big fight and break up the team. Winn stays with Contradiction for a little while to further explore their gender, and picks Wednesday as a new name.
The city has been terrorized by a serious of kaiju attacks for a while now and Wednesday is nearly killed in the latest battle. This shock triggers their powers to change (and also rapid onset feminizing HRT)
Adult heroes have been mysteriously disappearing, including Silvester's mom. They come back together as a team to investigate the issue and realize whoever dealt the final blow to the last kaiju disappears, so Wednesday's dad is next.
Wednesday arrives just too late to warn their dad. He's discovered how Wednesday has been hanging out with a major supervillain, and it turns out he's contracted a virus that's triggered by negative emotions. This turns him into the next kaiju.
The team tries and fails to fight off dad-kaiju. Wednesday is eaten and winds up inside the monster where their dad still exists in his real body, drowning in negative self talk. Wednesday talks him out of it and this turns him back to normal.
Now that they know how to reverse the kaiju transformation, everyone is turned back to normal. Wednesday decides to keep being a hero but on their own terms, sometimes solo and sometimes teaming up with other heroes or Contradiction.
Comes from a legacy of heroes dating back to his great-grandma. When humanity landed on the moon in the 50s they unleashed an evil force known as Noctiluna. His great-grandma sealed it back in the moon but it still leaks out once in a while. Goes by the hero name "Cyber Knight"
He suffers from chronic migraines which are sometimes triggered by his powers. He pretty much ignores this problem.
His younger sister Sabine has similar powers and is on a different team in the Academy. He often feels like she out performs him and has developed quite a complex around it.
Noctiluna returns and they go to the moon to fight it again. He pushes himself to the point of burnout as usual, but he is also the deciding factor in the battle. It was probably a bad idea for this behavior to be validated.
Turns out ignoring disability is a bad idea and his burnout jeopardizes his team in their next battle. None of them are meeting their needs properly and they have a big fight and break up the team.
His mom mysteriously goes missing and he tries to investigate what happened, but doesn't get anywhere until his team gets back together. They discover a virus it turning people into kaiju.
Wednesday's dad turns into the next kaiju that threatens to destroy the city. With so many adult heroes missing they're totally outmatched. Silvester finally gets over himself and calls for backup from his sister.
The day is saved and his team reevaluates their priorities. They dissolve their team and Silvester joins Sabine's.
In an alternate timeline where life also developed on Venus, humans have had contact with them since the Space Race in the 50s. Earth was much further ahead of them in technology in many ways but since then they've equaled out. Something about contact with Venus also triggered the metahuman mutation on Earth. Travel between Earth and Venus happens about once every 1.7 Earth years (or 2.5 Venus years) when their orbits line up, although they're shipping resources back and forth to each other all the time.
Eiri was born on Venus without the ability to use telepathy which is kind of like being deaf. She grew up for a while attending a school on Venus for humans but eventually her family moved to Earth.
She's a highly gifted inventor and eventually joined the Hero Academy as a tech genius, she doesn't actually have any powers. Goes by the hero name "Venus-chan" yes its cringe as hell.
She is also a popular internet influencer and craves validation. Her followers don't know about her disability, and she is way too preoccupied with her online image.
She never talks about her disability with her team either, but when they visit the interplanetary moon base, which hosts a lot more Venusians than Earth does, this puts Eiri under a lot of stress.
The team wins an award for defeating Noctiluna, and Eiri's parents come to visit to attend the awards ceremony. They're rather ableist, and this further adds to Eiri's stress.
A lot of things go wrong and Eiri's stress over this finally reaches boiling point. The team has a big fight and breaks up.
Eiri realizes she actually hated the hero thing and was just doing it for validation. However she can't decide if she wants to quit for real or join another team and try again.
Adult heroes have been mysteriously disappearing, and the team comes back together as a team to investigate the issue. They discover a virus it turning people into kaiju, and Wednesday's dad turns into the next one.
The team works together to defeat the kaiju and eventually turn everyone back to normal. Wednesday quits the Academy and Silvester joins his sister's team. Eiri realizes she deeply dreads the idea of joining a different team, so she quits the Academy too and goes off to work in STEM. She comes clean to her online followers about her true feelings and then quits social media.
