Anybody a little worried about Amazon doing the 40k show? Like I've seen Rings of Power; that show cost one billion dollars and it still looks like shit, it looks like a direct to VHS rip-off of Lord of the Rings IP. I mean, I still watched both seasons, but it's not good.

40k is so fucking massive in scale, there's so much ostentatious shit, it's going to require an insane amount of CGI and, having seen a battle in RoP where an elf army just straight up looked like 5 guys in front of a shoddy greenscreen, I'm nervous about the production quality.

And then that branches out into my second concern: The average person does not wanna read Black Library books, I know this because I've tried and failed to talk so many people into reading one, so this is going to be the average normie's introduction to this universe. If the show tanks, it'll make a bad first impression and be labeled an unmarketable product by studios. It'll be nigh impossible to get another shot at it.

Tbf the first Dune adaptation was a fuckin STINKER of a movie (RIP David Lynch, you tried your best) and Hollywood did give that another go later down the line, but it took like THIRTY YEARS. Plus it's far more respected as sci-fi media than 40k.

It feels like this is our one shot at seeing Warhammer come to TV or film and I don't have the highest expectations.

In the projects defense, Cavill did a good job adapting The Witcher (or so I'm told, I don't fuckin know) so maybe his involvement in its creative direction will make a difference?

In regards to the RoP show I believe I remember tho reading something bout how most of the budget went into acquiring the rights to even make the show. That, if I remember correctly, was also the reason it was partially adapting Silmarillion bits and partially spinning original stuff. Like if we look at the last of us show they did pretty solid on the cgi and mask building there so maybe there is hope?? Also imo with RoP you can’t deny that there is a certain vision I think ppl have subconsciously how Middleearth is supposed to look? And uhhhhh some outfit design choices went against that very hard. (I forgot his name, but the fuck ass short haired wig that one elf king wore)

And yeah regarding his time on the Witcher, Cavill did do a solid job playing Gerald and, allegedly, trying to steer the plot to be more book accurate. Tho that in the end was also why he quit the project cus it diverted too far from the source material. That at least has me hoping that the writing will maybe at least be tolerable? TBH that is mostly what I care about the most. Like I’m ok with mildly trashy looking cgi. I can stomach that. As long as the writing isn’t too far away from the source material. ….. man the bar is on the floor isn’t it hahaha

It's my cat's birthday (anniversary of me getting him) so I told him the story of his life while petting him real good

Highlights include:

For your first two years (when you were small) you lived in a foster home with people who raised you into a very polite young man. Two is like you plus me, that's what two is.

Some people adopted you before me and they called you Timmy (which is a stupid name) and they returned your ass almost immediately because you were so annoying at that age.

Like think about how annoying you are right now at seven years old, but way worse.

I'm better than them though, I don't call you Timmy and I wore earplugs to bed for three years because you love to scream at bedtime. Earplugs are like when I roll over and go back to sleep even when you are yelling so so so loud.

I got you at a time in my life when I was really sick (being sick is like when I'm up late because I'm throwing up and you are a very handsome good boy who sits with me) and they had to put me asleep for a procedure. A procedure is like what happened to you when they put you asleep and took your balls away.

Now you've lived with me for five years. Five is like the number of toe beans on one of your feet. When I clip your nails five is when we're halfway done. But we're hopefully not even halfway done with how long we get to be together. I'm gonna have to figure out new ways to help you count.

Ok so since I don't know of any canon reason that orikan is in trazyn's dynastic colours, I'm just going to just trust what my brain defaulted to. It was a failed gold digging attempt.

Orikan and trazyn got hitched in the flesh times (orikan was pretty sure he could out live that boomer), but it all went wrong when biotransferance made gold digging a lost art. Orikan kept the colours in the divorce, or maybe they just forgot they were married in the first place (pick your poison).
