This is it.  Like a breakup with the love of your life...WTP are saying farewell.  BUT!!!  Before their final bow, they wanted to bring you something rad, beautiful and totally limited.  When they approached us at Panic State to help them with this, how the hell could we say no?  To be honest, we feel that they are one of the best in this genre and we are lucky to not only call them friends but to also call them family.  

What we have here is the first 2 EPs on a single 12 LP - Keep it Going and Its Not the End of the World.  The LP is limited to 500 copies on 4 different colors and housed in a beautiful hand screen printed jacket by the man Jesse Vadala himself.  This is special...VERY special.  Once these are gone, they are gone for good!

The time has finally come to announce this little ditty that we have been working on and rushed as fast as we could to coincide with their US tour together...  Our neighbors from the North...The Flatliners along with our brothers from Austria...Astpai.  This split 7" was originally released ONLY in Europe (250 copies) on Laser Life Records.  Welcome to the family.  We have some surprises for you NJ!

Let me give you the full story behind this record:      We here in the Panic State camp have known The Flatliners since the release of the first LP - Destroy to Create back in 2004 when they opened for Catch 22 on their Canadian tour.  Since then, we have not only been fans but we are proud to call them friends.  When they released of "Cavalcade" we were finally in the position to put our more records so I have been trying (hounding - thanks for not telling me to fuck off) to get a Flatliners record out on our label and welcome them to the family.  While the Flats were in Australia, Chris sent me a message asking me if we would be interested in releasing the split EP with ASTPAI that was only available in Europe on their tour together back in 2011 to coincide with their US East Coast tour together this year.  We didn't jump, we fucking leaped and rushed to get this thing out. Chris got me in touch with Toni (Astpai) and we worked hard to get the files and artwork together with literally DAYS to spare.  Toni had people retrieve the files for him from his computer because they were on tour in Europe with Smoke or Fire.  Long story short, we got the files, updated the art work (Thanks to the rad Peter Wonsowski) and Zak Kaplan @ Pirates Press came through clutch as always and took care of us. The result is a beautiful piece of wax with rad artwork and killer fucking songs.  The Flatliners cover Astpai's "Southwards" (from Heart to Grow) while Astpai tackle "Meanwhile, in Hell," from The Flatliners' full-length The Great Awake.

We here at Panic State are always on the look out for those in need and when we heard about and watched while glued to our TV/Computer/Phone screens the events that unfolded on April 15, we were sickened that people could do these heinous and thoughtless things to other human beings, especially in Boston. We may be from New Jersey but we consider Boston our second home and much of our extended "family" are from Boston (Lenny Lashley, Darkbuster, Bosstones, Big D, A Wilhelm Scream (new bedford but close enough) to just name a few), we knew we had to do something.

When we but the shirt together for Hurricane Sandy Relief and the Restore the Shore movement, we didnt know how big it would be, how much attention we would get or how much people all over the world would actually give a shit. But they did. The response was amazing and humbling. While this disaster cannot be compared to the tragedy in Boston, our response and feeling of responsibility must be the same. We will do what we can for you, our family.

100% of all proceeds will be donated to the One Fund to help those hurt/recovering after the disgusting and sickening acts on April 15, 2013.

BTW- I am a die hard Celtics fan so too bad. Knicks are gone in the first round....

Due to the heinous and heartbreaking attack on my home away from home, Boston, Mass, we will be donating all money raised from sales in our store for the next week.  While I wish we could do more, we are doing what we can.  I love all of you and will keep you on our thoughts.  Our Panic State family extends coast to coast and around the globe.  Lets look out for each other and do what we can.

The Moms "VIVA!" Release Date, new band, etc.

The Mom's debut 7" "VIVA!"  comes out January 22!!!  You can order it starting January 19th in our web store with digital downloads available immediately on the 19th!!!  You should check it out.  We will be adding more items to the store after the record release show on the 18th!  If you are in NJ on Friday the 18th, come out to The Moms RECORD RELEASE SHOW in Whippany, NJ with their friends Not the Bees, Caulfield Rebellion and Furnace Head. 12$ and you get a free limited color of VIVA!

Secondly, we are proud to announce that we are putting out Patent Pending's 2nd full length "Second Family" on vinyl.  It will be a 12" Picture Disc limited to ONLY 500 Copies!!!  The test presses have been approved and the release date will be announced soon.  Keep check for more info along with a chance to win a SIGNED TEST PRESS (limited to only 5 copies!).  They are some of the sweetest dudes around.

Lastly, I would like to welcome Jason Monchik to the Panic State family.  I have personally known this dude for over 12 years and I am stoked to welcome him to the family.  We are now a 3 person team here and it feels good...Really good......All most too good...

And so the family GROWS!

Panic State Records are STOKED to announce 2 new bands to join the PSR family. 

First up is Boston and Darkbuster's own, Lenny Lashley's Gang of One.  Being a Darkbuster fan for years and seeing him play was always a blast and his solo shit is unreal.  Emotional and honest but rips.  Recorded by Pete Steinkopf of @thebouncingsouls at his own Little Eden studios in Asbury Park.  His backing band is the studio band from Little Eden.  Some of you may have heard of them...The Bouncing Souls.  This record is unreal.  So stoked for everyone to hear it.  We are currently having it master by the man himself, Alan Douches @ West West Side music and Zak Kaplan, as always, is taking over layout duties.  The 10 song LP will drop in a few months and we will keep you posted on the date, charity and presale information. 

Next up are NJ's own, The Moms.  Couple of young dudes from NJ playing good, honest punk rock.  Fans of Against Me!, The Menzingers, Joyce Manor, etc will be stoked.  Recorded by ex Ataris member John Collura @  Silent Own Studios in Orange County, NY.  We will be streaming the record in the next week so feel free to come by and check it out!  The 4 song EP, VIVA!, is currently on its way to pressing and will be released also in a couple months.  Stay tuned for presale and charity information.

We have more stuff to tell but its too early.  Some dreams of ours are coming true.  Lets see if it happens.

Propagandhi - Less Talk, More Rock

Being in 8th grade and listening to this record changed my life forever.  I did not grasp everything that they were saying.  Standing on soapboxes at that age was so foreign to me.  Being much older now and looking back on what I was listening to, I am so thankful I got into them.  Their cries for Animal Rights, Gay Rights, Anti-Facism and Equality are strong and in your face.  There is no question as to what they are saying.  They leave very little to be interpreted so that you cannot twist their words. Thank being said, the current state of affairs in this country is so fucked up.  You cant love another human but don't worry, Wall St are still making their millions off you and me.

Everyone deserves love.  No matter who you choose.  No matter the gender.  Its sickening that we still have this immense lack of acceptance in the world. I am a humanist.  Plain and simple.

Old School Recess

I have been listening to their discography as of late, over and over again.  Except for GO!  That record is awful and I think they know that as well.  There are a few good songs here and there on it, but its just bad.  I am not one of those dicks (maybe I totally am) that says "I used to love them".  Screw that, I love them.  My Friends Look Out for Me Like Family!
