John Currin is an American painter based in New York City. He is best known for his satirical figurative paintings which deal with provocative sexual and social themes in a technically skillful manner. What I like most about Currin’s paintings is the real life tones of the images, it’s like they look like real people but in a way they also look very comical. His brush strokes are very smooth and you can barely see strokes. From what I’ve seen he usually paints everyday life events and he kind of focuses on the subjects’ facial reactions. Overall he is a very interesting painter.
After watching the second video I noticed Aliza Nisenbaum uses a lot of colors in her painting which makes it very eye catching. At first glance a political statement can’t be noticed because of how rich and joyful the colors are. I love how she captures many colors to capture the viewers attention of these beautiful moments. The most important and beautiful part of her art in my opinion is that it shows a lot of people who are going through the motions of life, nothing is staged basically, the most natural state of a normal human being, It really emphasizes the value of everyday life.
My warm and cool paining
This is really cool
During the course of the video you realize every piece has a unique message that it wants to send to its viewers. In this video Jordan Casteel’s purpose was to show the injustice more than anything, in my opinion. The history of this country is not a very cute one for all immigrants and in this case people of color, her motives for these painting a very justified and they bring forth a cry for change and peace. Her art focuses on black men and the injustices that goes on in this country. Her contributions a great because not many have what it takes to drop a piece like this without worrying about what people will think. All her pieces are done with care and show the soft part of mankind where everyone can come together and live without worrying about it who is superior and who isn’t.

She is a Nigerian-American contemporary visual artist known mostly because of her very unique multimedia drawings and works on paper. She produces multimedia drawings that ask questions in the complexity and shape-ability of identity. While looking at her works I think the one that I found very appealing was her work called Manifesto. I believe what interested me most is the fact that the tone of the subject feels so even even though her brush strokes aren’t uniformed. The strokes can also be assumed to be the light reflecting from the skin of the subject.
An update from my last painting with some of Anna’s feedback :)

Hi all :D
So, I’m almost done with my painting. I’m not sure what color to paint the background.
I loved doing this painting, not sure if I started it correctly because obviously I don’t have the technique, but little by little I started getting the hang of it. The hardest part for me was blending the paint to transition from the dark purples to the yellow.
Hope y'all like it.
WOW I LOVE 😍
I love the blending, it’s very Cezanne-like!
Wow, just simply amazing.
Final result, abstract ☄️☄️

Yes yes yes! Go Jason! Speeding ahead! Is the painting finished? Is there anything you would do differently? Any challenges, happy or unexpected surprises?
The detail in the water droplet is 🔥 in color and black and white

Okay so before I get into my painting, I wanted to show my main inspiration and where I will be going with my painting. After reading the presentation, this particular artist struck my interest the most. Mainly because of her choice of color. Her subjects are unconventional yes but the use of color gives her subjects a new out of this world feeling. Almost like a intergalactic disco. I look forward to seeing where this simple flower photograph will take me. I plan to have loads of fun with color with this one!
