IS IT TUESDAY YET? PLEASE TELL ME IT IS IN FACT TUESDAY
Lyfe gives the people something to ride to. Smooth croons and a Texas twist have you in for an ambient journey fueled by real rap raw. It's always good to have a ride-or-die accompanying you on your sonic ride along.
Yung Lean - Yoshi City
Leandoer hits the people over the head with another next-level, James Bond, euro-thug ballin' visual/audible clinic. Catch the international man of spittery lonely-rap in caves and dramatically stroll through a parking garage that feels undoubtedly from the future. So much emotion. Feel that?

HONEST
What a blessing the arrival of this project has become. So many hip-hop writers inspired to really be truthful about some shit, maybe. Probably not, but anyway, this project is for everybody.
A rarity in 2014, but the best songs on this project were the ones you didnât get to hear pre-release. Itâs also highly intriguing to a young Paperham that this project has been quickly marketed as the segue into whatâs to come on âFuture Hendrix,â possibly given to planet Earth in the same year.
Future touched on making sure the âHonestâ project had the turnt energy his mainstream fans were looking for, but only in an attempt to prepare his listeners for the emotional range âFuture Hendrixâ is designed to display. Future for the people, but enjoy the eccentric stunts like âI Wonâ and âHow Can I Notâ while you can. Once his credibility in bringing a new sound/style to hip-hop is established, things are going to feel a lot more like âI Be U,â but he can do that now because he gave blood, sweat, AND tears for this. You couldnât known what he did for that.
Future hit the Trap + R&B yin and yang with this one. Combined with Futureâs future, the utilizing of these influences brought me to an interesting conclusion. Future and Drake have the exact same paths to walk to success, but in the complete reverse order...
- âThe Rideâ
âMy Junior and Senior will only get meanerâ and so far weâve seen that to be true, as Drizzy has adopted the trap wave and backburnered the sing-song sappy boy stuff that put him on the map, from a mainstream perspective. NWTS was his hardest hitting project to date, and that was his junior, right? So if heâs really sticking to the script, whatever Drake gives us next will only get⊠meaner, right?
Hip-hop has officially turned into a metaphorical teeter-totter with one sad boy and one trap boy taking turns launching their end off the ground. Even if the sad boy and trap boy reside within the same being.
With anything else, balance is appropriate. If you didn't know that until now, at least you know now, and I'll know itâs because of me.
 Sincerely,
Paper

Because Underground Organizations With All The Power Be The Wave
2014 has been a very blessed year for the state of Washington. Just a month in and Washingtonâs already witnessed the legalization of marijuana, a chance at Super Bowl redemption, and the arrival of a Grammy-winning hometown rapper.
So how does so much awesome happen in one not-so-relevant state in such a short amount of time? Sure, Washington is probably a great place, but donât get shit twisted. The Pacific Northwest isnât exactly viewed on a nationwide scale as one of Americaâs treasured cultural epicenters. Sorry Washington, but youâre in with the 45 other pretty ok places to live between Canada and Mexico.
Letâs be real âbout the shit; the right âsomebodyâ really wants to bring the Seattle Supersonics back.
For the uneducated broke boys out there, the style of play that swept through the NBA during the late 80âs to the mid 90âs was one that was incredible to watch. The Seattle Supersonics were by no means left out of the fun.
Donât belee?
Just watch:

Sellout crowds packed house to see players like OG Gary Payton, Shawn âReign Manâ Kemp, Â scumlord Ray Allen, and a surplus of other talented athletes hoop it up in a city that was lacking excitement from other sports programs.
In the wide world of professional sports, small market cities are arguably the most dedicated of fan bases. For everybody not from Miami, New York, LA, and Chicago: remember your first impression of the hometown representatives? How heroic they appeared? How captivating of an experience they provided for the young and eager mind? So if the right guy/girl, from the right place, with the right pull wanted to make some wild shit happen in his/her hometown, whatâs to stop them?
These sorts of impressions being made upon people commonly lead to valuing of team support and itâs no different when it comes to Seattle. The Seattle Seahawks are this yearâs NFC representatives in the Superbowl. This team is winning for a fan base that has had its basketball team taken away from them. Even the MLS team up there rackinâ up dubs. So why would the NBA not be obligated to provide Seattle with that? Letâs not get wrapped up in questions that will be short lived, because the Freemasons, Illuminati, Catholic Church, US Government, whatever-you-want-to-call-it is the only one with answers, bruh.
This Super Bowl is advertised as one of those scripts that âwrites itself,â but we know better, right? Welcome to a little thing we call - foreshadowing -
________ wants to smoke weed, listen to Macklemore, and watch the Seattle Supersonics while they sip their starbucks and plot their next move.

Sonic Comparison and the Casual Music Listener
I listened to âOver Hereâ by partynextdoor 15 times in a row the other day. When first arriving on the scene, partynextdoorâs sound (and affiliation) was regularly compared to The Weeknd, but the careful ear strongly disagrees. In light of the comparisons, I find myself listening in situations that I could also apply to moods and mindsets that would be fulfilled by the falsetto croons and spacey production of Yung Abel.  During a recent discussion with Paperham, it was pointed out that we compare artists because of the feeling or emotions that their music inspires in us. Sounds and lyrical content trigger similar responses causing us to say one artist sounds comparable to another, but in actuality we should be saying âfeels likeâ rather than âsounds likeâ. We categorize artists into a genre, but the genre itself is based off the idea of an anticipated range of emotions, lyrics, and sounds. We tend to listen to these artists that we, in an almost innate fashion, try to relate to others.
So what makes people favor the moods of music that they do? Do they choose to listen because they want to experience a particular reaction?
Letâs look at this idea from two different perspectives. When we feel a certain way, we tend to resort to a specific genre of music. We want to relate to what the song is saying and know that someone else might understand us. This is why we put artists into categories so that we can go to a genre and know these artists are going to embody the emotions that we may already be experiencing. You donât go to a club and expect to hear depressing music.
Aside from capturing and empowering an existing emotion, our genres of choice can completely change our emotional state, helping to get us from one end of a spectrum to the other, more desirable end. Youâve been feeling sad and no longer want to feel that way, so you listen to a more upbeat genre to change the way that you feel. You are wanting to avoid an emotion and change your current state of mind. How many times have you skipped a sad song because you knew it was going to entail a flood of associated emotions and memories?
The significant difference is between the initial and desired emotion. The way we feel as a response to the music becomes a matter of control. Music is a relationship of the mind and itâs relative emotional responses via sonic design/lyrical content. Music is a powerful influence. However, there is no Yin without Yang. Our emotions fuel the empowerment of music by acting as its receptors and its creators. Understand a bit of the music, understand a bit of yourself.  Â
