I draw book covers for freelance all the time. I feel pretty lucky to do so, and wanted to create one with all my free will and spare time, to make just for me. Well, and for you lot as well. But mainly, for me.

You know I'm against pointless gendering in general. However I will confess I have recently found myself in the company of a female dog & I'm having way too much fun being like She's a Girl 💃❤💅🌸 but in my defense this is largely because of her personality specifically. Very demure very mindful. I keep doing like a rupaul voice at her

This might not even be my dog I just found her the other day so we're still looking for previous owners. But I've been calling her dolly. As in miss parton. My cunty slay dog. The other kind of fierce pitbull

To elaborate on what I mean by this dog's personality specifically

She's So friendly. Already very affectionate after knowing me for like 2 days

She's very Polite she's like quiet and dainty. She's one of those dogs that take treats from your hand Gently. She has not barked once yet. Walks really well on a leash

Despite being Polite she is also dramatic about not getting what she wants (i.e. your food). She begs for anything you're eating but especially cheese & will lie down and Sigh when you don't share. She acts like she has never eaten before (this is not true)

However, at the same time, she is picky. She doesn't like healthy food (the fancy grain free kibble we already had for my old dog with health issues) she wants Cheese Burger. The compromise for now is regular kibble

Not a personality trait but she's also kinda fat & I didn't notice at first because she's that shape with the broad chest / thin waist but if you touch her side you like can't feel her ribs so she is Overweight. She's just snatched. She's busty

She doesn't want the 3x daily walks Old Dog was having. She loves Couch Time. She has ok energy because she's like young and otherwise healthy she's just Not Used To Exercise

And of course here is the girl in question

More Dolly traits:

Really just can't stress enough how well mannered this dog is. She doesn't seem to know a lot of commands but just kind of understand intuitively if you tell her where to go, drop it, etc. My last pitbull was really smart (understood mirrors????) & she might be similar but less of a Rude Boy about it

She is scared of other dogs but not particularly aggressive so far, she just stands there and tenses up. She especially doesn't like smaller dogs & we did find her with Little bite marks on her face so I think she was bullied by a yappy little thing like 1/3rd her size 😭

She likes being under blankets because her fur's so short. She's gonna be wearing little sweaters when it gets cold this winter. I mean this isn't my dog I might not keep her what

She's also simply too polite to play tug o war with you. We got her a rope toy (didn't have a lot of toys in the house because Old Dog was like thirteen and arthritic etc) & she'll just let you take it. I'm not sure if she knows she's a pitbull

Dolly update: she has barked, she's getting more confident 🎉 and she has kind of a high voice for her size she's not beating the Girl 🌸 allegations

More dolly developments:

She has started to watch tv (Really Smart last pitbull also did this), she likes the computer beeping sounds on star trek

She Got Scared when my mom grabbed a rolled up magazine to kill a bug & she went and hid in a dark room & I had to like sit there with her while she had Ptsd For Dogs (we have never hit her, this is from Previous Owner)

In the process of shushing her like a horse and coaxing her out of her Dark Corner (not a room she's really supposed to be in) I discovered she likes spiderman ???? I did the spiderman cartoon theme song at her & she liked it. She also wags her tail if I just say spidahman in a silly voice. Maybe she used to live with kids ???? I don't know how she knows who spiderman is. It's not just the silly voice she responds to spidahman specifically. She does not respond to saying spiderman with a hard R

Re: ownership, she *is* microchipped, they have been contacted, but haven't responded yet. The vet said that if nobody claims her in 10 days she's legally ours, and that was (checks calendar) a week ago. But I think we can pretty solidly say this is my dog at this point. By the time you're like helping a dog through a panic attack that's your dog. She also responds to her new name already so like

Happy 1 year+ to this post Dolly's still my dog lol

She's gotten friendly and playful with other dogs & even friendlier with people. She loves old people and women and children especially. Sometimes she barks at white people with bad vibes specifically and I'm not sure what that's about but speak your truth girl

She's also Less Fat now but she got really muscular and I'm struggling to find a picture in my camera roll where she doesn't still Look Chunky. Here's Dolly in her halloween jammas last month
