was complaining to my sis about kataang bullies and antis in the early hours of the morning (we share a room), and she interrupts me like :

Kataang , Zutara , Taang , Zukka and many more fandoms lived in harmony and peace. That was until the Bryke Nation and Kataang Nation attacked Zutara , the zutarains were wiped out and the rest of the fandom world went out of balance.

This feels like a good time to remind people that Zutara is a Pirate Ship. That means we don't need canon. We don't need authorization. We don't need anyone's approval to love this pairing. I know there are obnoxious canon purists who are obsessed with us and can't leave us alone, but that's okay. If us shipping our ship pisses them off, we can consider that a side benefit to being part of the most enduring part of the fandom.

wanted to avenge the zutara fandom (for those who have watched the new movie) with a fic but idk if i should continue-- the writiing has not been edited but umm i hope this snippet is pleasing. . .

Zuko's eyes linger about the garden and small lake before settling on the quiet waterbender girl , with the turtle-duck cupped in her hands. Her tan skin glows in the afternoon sun , her brown hair tightly braided. He stares , and he feels the drowning pain flickering in her eyes time-to-time.

He steps into the garden , approaching her slowly with a tray of tea in hand— his hair is tied in a loose bun , his Fire Nation robes heavy like a burden against his skin. He kneels next to Katara , she can't bring herself to look into his warm amber gold gaze.

Not now , she pleads with the voice in her head.

She carefully lays her hands down onto the grass — letting the small , fuzzy turtle-duck waddle off her fingers. She turns to kneel facing him , but her eyes we're to heavy to look up. Zuko grins to himself as he places the tray onto the ground between them , he takes the handle of the teapot and pours in jasmine tea into both of small ceramic tea cups. His eyes keep flicking up and down every few moments , watching as she quietly fiddles with her hands.

He places her cup near her fingers and takes hold of his own. The tip of the cup barely touches his lips when Katara breathes out an annoyed sigh.

"Katara?"

Zuko finally says her name , Katara's shoulders tense up as she turns her head to face the pond full of little turtle-ducks. But Zuko presses on, "You've been writing shorter letters, Katara. And you haven't looked at me once since you arrived." He pauses, his voice dropping. "Did I do something wrong?"

Katara's eyes finally lock onto his , painting her brooding expression over with a small smile. She shook her head , "No , im just a bit tired of all the work we've been doing back at the Republic City." She forces out a little chuckle , "I'm sorry if I made you feel that way , Zuko."

i always love getting to be part of this event. thank you to the mods for once again gathering so many zutara fans and hosting another big bang!

i drafted so. many. composition and value thumbnails for this piece… and ended up using none of them lol.

i ended up landing on the final version just a few weeks ago, after already completely starting over twice? smh. i always want to try creating atmospheric paintings and challenge myself with interesting compositions, but i never actually enjoy drawing environments. focusing on detailed facial features is just too much fun :)
