a neurodiverent's thoughts about not spiraling about kingdon and the main cast's comments about it:
i truly do not take anything that noah or pdeardz says about kingdon to heart because to me it's pretty clear what the intention is, and if i'm wrong, i'm wrong, but that would mean they're going to intentionally avoid going down the path they've laid all the bricks down for.
the pitt since its inception has thought of itself as prestige television, largely due to its creator and lead actor. they immediately placed themselves above the idea of any kind of "will they/won't they" category for any of their romances, especially with how they formatted the show into a single shift per season.
taking into account the writers, their backgrounds, and what they've already proven themselves capable of accomplishing re: showcasing undertold stories about underrepresented people, i'm a firm believer in that a main driving force of the show when first pitched was going to be the pairing of the hottie and the autie, thinking it to be revolutionary television (and rightly so! let autistics fuck! mark_ruffalo.gif), and catching everyone completely off guard when it's finally revealed, seasons down the road.
we have eyes and ears and hearts and brains and clocked that shit the second they were on screen together due to pdeardz' crazy on-screen chemistry. so now, with the way that fandom culture leaks into mainstream media and gets awkwardly shoved into the actors faces, what once would have been a niche corner of the internet is being openly discussed by everyone trying to ride the wave and garner engagement to their article/podcast/talk show etc, and noah and pdeardz are now not only having to play coy to save face about the audience picking up on it so quickly, but having to seemingly shut down any talk of kingdon actually happening because they want to still get away with their "big reveal".
anyways, those are my kingdon brainworm thoughts from way too many years of consuming media and being chronically online. lord knows i didn't get the math flavored tism, i got the knows-too-much-about-pop-culture-and-storytelling-pattern-recognition-and-spoils-the-plot-for-anyone-who-will-listen flavor.
