You came into this because you want to defend yourself but you wanted to be able to absolve yourself if it didn't go the way you wanted it to. If you got proven wrong or just plain embarrassed, using a sockpuppet lets you brush it off as not having been you who was wrong or embarrassed. You can say, "I wasn't wrong or embarrassed! That was some other person! Not me! I've not been wrong or embarrassed!"
Because we all know you're completely unwilling to take accountability for anything you've ever been wrong about. You either let one of your sockpuppets take the fall for it, or you pretend it never happened. Or you come up with some elaborate mental gymnastics for why "ackchually, Im still rite".
See the time you adopted a stolen character from me years ago, knowing it was stolen, and put the blame on me for having stolen the character to begin with when it was pointed out years later that you were using a stolen character on one of your sockpuppets, knowing the whole time that it was stolen. Rather than delete the art and letting it die in the void of forgotten and abandoned characters, you hung onto it and used it. Then when I said, "Hey, DNA is using a stolen character" instead of admitting it and deleting art of the stolen character, including the piece of stolen art that was recolored, you kept up everything and pointed your finger at me saying "Well Halcyon was the one who stole it and let me have it when I asked for it years ago!"

I had forgotten that I was the one who downloaded the art and used a color slider on it until you proved that I had done it. Then faced with evidence that it was me, I acknowledged it and that it wasnt right that I had done that.
You on the other hand, are quick to shift the blame onto me whenever you think it'd be advantageous to you to do so.
