Megatron's ever loyal communications officer, she possesses the ability to read people's thoughts, sometimes not of her own choice. she possesses several minicons, most notably, Laserbeak, Ravage, Rumble and Frenzy. outside of the decepticons, she is a force to be reckoned with. yet, most also feel pity that she has to maintain a level of order within the Decepticons. don't tell her this.

near the end of the war, she would unwillingly strike up a friendship with Hot Rod, after being forced to escape a predicament together. she would gradually come to realize that Megatron's cause was not what it once was, yet remained loyal, if only to one day get their cause right. though, one force stood in her way of that, and no one wants someone so treacherous as leader. it's not like Megatron would miss or mourn her. she would never go as far as to cross Megatron, but Starscream was nothing in her eyes. and with her minicons, she has plenty of eyes to verify this.

after Megatron's exile, she would not assume command, as Starscream would declare herself supreme ruler. she gradually sees Starscream more as a threat during this.

i'm sorry lore under the cut

Rung is the reincarnation and vessel of Primus, essentially being her eyes and ears while in eternal slumber. unlike her idw counterpart, she is well aware of this and acts according to her former incarnations wishes. she stays uninvolved in the war and tells no one of this, at least, until she boards the lost light post war and it's revealed near the end of their journey.

she also spends most of the war locked in battle throughout the cosmos against Sideways, Unicron's own vessel/reincarnation.
