Japanese tea bag maker Ocean-Teabag has been making waves by creating little parcels of aroma in the shape of marine animals. Luckily for us, their wide range of tea bags are available at online Japanese novelty retailer Village Vanguard, maker of such fine products as Space Tea and cat-shaped kitchen utensils.
Ocean-Teabagâs earliest designs included beautiful dolphin tea bags filled with blue mallow tea leaves. Steeping them turns your otherwise normal pot of water into a tranquil ocean. Proving to be a hit among tea lovers, Ocean-Teabag expanded their repertoire to many other sea creatures including the sea turtle (butterfly pea jasmine tea)âŚ
the distinctive ocean sunfish (Japanese hojicha â roasted green tea)âŚ
the graceful manta ray (tropical mango tea)âŚ
and even a blood-thirsty shark (blended herb tea).
The newest addition to their robust series of marine creatures is a tea bag shaped like an innocuous sea cucumber. This little parcel is filled with jasmine tea, as well as a smidgen of sea cucumber powder to lend some authenticity. Ocean-Teabag warns that some people who have a sensitive tongue may find it tasting a little fishy.
The company also crafted a deep sea series that will satisfy even the most adventurous of tea drinkers out there. A few such examples are the anglerfish (earl grey tea)âŚ
the creepy giant isopod (Eastern Beauty oolong tea)âŚ
the horseshoe crab (white apricot tea)âŚ
âŚand lastly the king of them all, the enormous giant oarfish. ( Delicious Assam tea of epic proportions! ) Just like its namesake, it measures a whopping 19 centimeters (7.5 inches). Drinking tea becomes an art when half of your tea bag hangs out of your cup.
While the notion of turning your cup of tea into fish-inhabiting waters is not new, these tea bags will hopefully conjure up images of gentle ocean waves in your mind.Â

who wants to run away with me to a small coastal town where we can live in a lighthouse and read books about marine biology and fish until the sun goes down and make friends with the local water monsters and mermaids

Iâm both pro herbal medicine and pro vaccination because you can treat burns with aloe vera juice and sore throats with lavender infused honey but you canât rid a country of polio with plants.Â
Donât forget kids, jewelweed is a natural counteragent to poison ivy rashes but it wonât do shit against whooping cough
Mint for nausea, valerian and chamomile for sleep, antibiotics for fucking infections.
The newest addition to my altar for Lady Aphroditeđ¸
Iâm gonna say it I think deep sea animals are beautiful and incredible and very neat and I know thatâs not an unpopular thought like many many people agree but I donât at all hold the sentiment that they are terrifying and grotesque and anything else like that.
The popular jokes like âwe need to leave whatever is in the ocean down there Iâll take my chances in spaceâ are funny I love those jokes but truly
When I see a photo of one of the more supposedly horrifying fish from the deep I am mystified I am filled with wonder and even adoration an thatâs all
idk they are just truly amazing.
They go downâŚ..so deepâŚ..they just live down thereâŚwith all of their teeth. They donât have a care for or a thought for us or anything else up here. Theyâre just down there glowing and swimming and eating.
Amazing.
Theyâre not scary theyâre just so vastly different and their existences are so vastly different from anything we can comprehend. I canât fathom what life would be like down there.
I love them. They are animals, same as anything else. Not scary. Just incredible.
Second sigil I made for the anon request! I love and could use both atm, several circumstances have my energy all out of wack at the moment đ

Awareness about the environment and climate change is growing super fast right now among people and countries, which will only help us
Most pollution is caused by like 100 companies, but a few of those (like pepsi) are trying to cut down on that.
if this stuff keeps happening things will get even better, and the only thing stopping us really are those big companies who donât want to pay the money to switch to more eco-friendly energy sources. i know the media tends to cause fear and stress about this stuff for a lot of people, but there really is hope.
easy things we can do:Â
RecycleÂ
Plant gardens in your yard for bees if you can
Participate in community volunteer things that plant trees and gardens
Theres this search engine called ecosia that plants a tree for every 45 searches you make, it has almost 2 mil users.Â
Pick up trash if you see it when youâre at the beach or in nature
If you have a fair amount of money, consider donating some to trustworthy environmental organizations
Start using a reusable water bottle (like those ones at target) rather than relying on single use plastic ones.
Cut the plastic rings on plastic milk bottles. You know, the little spiky plastic ring near the cap. Birds get those things stuck around their neck and die, so cut them so that they canât get stuck on a neck.
If you can afford it, get some of those reusable grocery bags and sue those. most grocery stores have them, and it saves a lot of waste.
Cleaning the oceans one step at a time
Two Australians created this container that collects plastic, paper, oil, fuel and detergent floating in the ocean. They want to implement it the middle of next year to clean up the sea worldwide. It seems a great idea. The only âbutâ as always is money, so they are raising funds to get to their goal. You can see their project and donations here.
Fucking genius!
Boost!!đđž
Thereâs only 9 days left and they arenât even 35% funded. Boost and help them out!
7 days left, please help out if you can. Trash in the ocean is a massive, massive problem to the eco-system, food chain, climate and wildlife.
Pleaaaaase consider. My environmental science classes talked about this for months. There are literal Giant islands sub islands of plastic floating in our oceans it affects every country if you eat fish it affects you if you eat anything from the ocean it affects you if you eat from anything that has come from water it affects you please consider funding them.
Oh gosh i wish I could donate but ill reblog for those who can
This is actually an old post and the donations here have been closed but you can still support them at their website: https://seabinproject.com
And this is how theyâve been doing thus far
Simple Ocean Cleansing & Healing Oilđ
This oil is extremely simple and cheap to make. It doesnât contain any essential oils and has very cleansing and healing properties!
Ingredients:
đĽĽfractionated (liquid) coconut oil
đĽĽcoconut fragrance (optional)
đsea salt (amount is up to you)
What to do:
âď¸combine the ingredients in a spray bottle, roller, or other container, let the sea salt dissolve in the coconut oil (you may have to heat it if you were more generous with the salt)
âlet it charge in sunlight or moonlight
đrub it onto your skin or hair (it makes your skin super soft), use it in a bath, use it to cleanse certain ocean crystals, and/or as an offering
