ADHD is only motivated by 5 things: -urgency -challenge -novelty and play -interest -being a contrarian little bitch
I’ve seen multiple people genuinely asking whats wrong with playing their music on a speaker/their phone in public rather than through headphones. While it baffles me that you can’t reason it out I’m taking it in good faith that you genuinely don’t know - so here’s a list of reasons you shouldn’t:
- It sounds bad. It doesnt matter if people like the song, you might be close enough to your phone speaker for it to sound largely as intended, but everyone else is getting a distorted mess.
- Unwanted noise is extra stimulation in the already overpowering public space. Yes this is particularly bad for neurodivergent people but I actually want to acknowledge that this effects Everyone. Everyone has a stimulation threshold and unwanted music easily pushes people closer to it.
- Its distracting/disruptive. People want to focus on their own conversations, listen to their own music through their earbuds, or just be alone with their thoughts. Your music is intruding.
- Differing taste. This one is less significant but people around you just dont always like the same music you do. In extreme cases they might actively hate a song you’re playing.
- People have the right to as close to silence as they can get. If they’re in a shop playing obnoxious music they can leave, they can change the radio in their car, they can skip the song on their playlist. They have no control over what you are putting on and in bus situations they can’t get away from you.
- Any other number of reasons; Maybe your music is offensive, maybe its uncensored and there are children about, maybe someone just got horrible news and your perky feelgood song feels like salt in the wound, maybe someone’s sick or hungover or in pain and your music feels like a drill to the skull. You might think your music is good, it might make you smile after a hard day. Nobody is saying dont listen at all, just put in earphones. To everyone around you its the equivilent of a drunk guy singing loudly and off key at the back of the bus. Maybe it makes some people smile to think he’s having a good time, maybe some people are scared his lack of boundaries will mean he could act out, maybe some people wish he would just shut up.
you are controlling an aspect of a public space which affects everyone in that space. That’s the jist of it. By playing music in public, you’re saying “my desired sound and its volume are all that matters, and nobody else’s”. That’s why quiet, beyond a reasonable speaking volume, should be the default in public. If quietness is unsettling to you, you can fix it by listening to something through earbuds without affecting anyone else, but if too much/the wrong kind of noise is unsettling to others, it’s much harder for them to block it out.
Shared spaces should be kept at conditions tolerable to everyone, where reasonable. That’s almost the definition of a shared space. If you dominate that space in some way, eg by playing music out loud, you are making it your space. You are making it unwelcoming for others. That is rude and anti-social behavior.
it’s the last one, really. just the last one.
WHAT. DOES. GLOMPED. MEAN?????
Haha oh man,
glomping is an action. Its like a hug but you sorta jump onto the person a bit. Looks cute in anime but irl its not super great, you can hurt yourself and the other person pretty easily.
These are glomps:
Dude got fucking BODIED!!! now THAT’S what a real glomp is!

p*nis anon. i don’t think you understand that p*nises can be incredibly triggering to some people because of r*pe or s*xual ass*ult. if you can’t be trusted not to post about violent body parts, how can women trust that you yourself won’t be violent to us?
this may actually be the funniest anon i’ve ever gotten. “violent body parts” u mean me violently getting my guts rearranged by a hot guy on a thursday afternoon??
here’s a fun challenge: cis women stop projecting your trauma onto queer people. if “p*nises” are truly such a massive trigger to you that you shriek and faint and seize at the mere mention of one, then filter the word and don’t interact with people who have, want, or enjoy getting railed by penises.
and stop fucking painting gay men as predatory or violent for simply being into dick. it’s an age-old homophobic argument that y’all are falling hook line and sinker for. no amount of trauma — which many people who aren’t cis women also have, by the way, including myself — will excuse this type of homophobic behavior. grow up.
ya know what, y’all need to realize that the queer community’s obsession with hating penises doesn’t just affect trans women and femmes. it affects everyone in the community who — as i stated above — wants, has, or enjoys having sex with penises. the people i was talking about whose penises anon is complaining about are cis and trans men. the conversation was about gay sex between men.
this is why i and so many other trans people have been talking about why it’s so important to recognize ra/df/em rhetoric outside of just “Trans Women Bad” bc if you think calling penises a “violent body part” is only bad because trans women have penises too, you are entirely missing the point. it’s bad because it’s a fucking unhinged thing to say regardless of whose penis it is.
Australia’s Great Barrier Reef has suffered from widespread and severe bleaching because of rising ocean temperatures.
Let's hear it for some GOOD environmental news!!!
Guys. Chill a minute.
They didn't actually say "pornographic" or "sexually explicit." In none of their examples did they state that you can show specific bits or specific acts; y'all are assuming.
They DID say they haven't changed their content policies.
Their content policies still say no realistic genitals/"female-presenting" nipples and no sex acts.
This isn't the first time they've made an update that implies you can post more explicit material without actually changing their rules.
The rules haven't changed. We're still not allowed to post the things we haven't been allowed to post. This might be a prelude to revoking the porn ban; or it might just be a new tool for us to self-filter the content we were ALREADY allowed to post, with no plans to broaden the kinds of explicit content we can post.
Don't start celebrating until the rules change.

It's so important to remember that tumblr is bad. Has been bad. And will likely remain bad for the foreseeable future. And that is vital to our survival. If Tumblr was a good website that worked, it would get turned into a corporate hellscape like every other site. It's so important that Tumblr is broken and poorly run and impossible to effectively navigate. It's all that's keeping us safe.
Maybe the reason people don't think trans men and transmascs didn't contribute substantially to the Trans Community is because our stories are a hushed whisper at best, erased at worst. There's a cycle of our stories being actively erased, then people using the lack of history on us as "proof" we're just... add-ons to the Trans Community, a group that's optional to include because it's surely not like we ever mattered in the first place, right?
What I say goes double for trans men and transmasc people who are (and were) people of colour, who were disabled, who were poor, or of a religious minority.

my sister was 8 years old when morality police in Tehran stopped us because she wasn’t wearing a headscarf. Dad tried to tell them, she’s only 8, it’s not mandatory until she’s 10, but it didn’t matter to him because she “looked” older. She was forced to wear a scarf before he let us go.
The same day another police stopped us because he could glimpse my mother’s ankles, even though she was wearing a long trench coat. She had to buy and put on black tights before he let us go.
In 1997 we got stuck in the airport in Teheran because they “lost” dad’s passport. Mom ended up leaving with me and my sister, leaving dad behind. Since he’s an Iranian citizen, the Swedish embassy couldn’t help even though he also is a Swedish citizen. My uncle went every day to the airport to pester them about the passport. They “found” the passport 2 months later, finally allowing him to fly back to Sweden.
when ordering school photos my dad would always ask the photographer to edit out our cross necklaces in one copy, so that he could send it to our grandparents. He knew it wouldn’t be safe in case officials checked the mail and realised we we’re christian.
These are mild examples of the oppression and fear the Iranian people have had to live with for over 40 years, of the oppression Iranian women have had to live under.
i could give a thousand more. the people of Iran are terrorised by it’s government. I could tell you about relatives executed and relatives scattered around the globe. About the per capita executions and the examples of attacks on Iranians outside Iran by agents of the regime. The risks of traveling into Iran as a Iranian citizen.
I’m just part of the Iranian diaspora. I’m Iranian, yet not Iranian. Cut off from my heritage due to the risks, due to the distance. It’s an open wound. A wound that will never have a chance to heal unless the regime falls.
but my wound is a paper cut compared to my dad’s, compared to the Iranians in Iran fighting for freedom and justice. The ones that’s been truly robbed of their homeland. For that, I have no words.
what we’re seeing now is a fight to reclaim it. A fight for justice for Masha Amini, as well as other women before her -and sadly after her. A fight for human- and women’s rights.
I can only voice my support.
