A funny thing though is in the outlander book series the protagonist has difficulty knitting. She grew up in an environment with her uncle where she did lots of things unusual for what a typical girl does. When she travels beck in time the the 1700s her husband knits better than she does and she says something along the lines of you shouldnât be good at that youâre a man. And he asks whys sheâs not good at it then and explains that knitting was necessary for clothing and it passed the time during winter. Also funny side note is the author of outlander, Diana Gabaldon is friends with GRRM.
