ok but. i need you to know that the mummy, men in black and pacific rim in particular are regarded as technical masterpieces when it comes to director skill & cinematography?
the intro shot of rick o'connell in the mummy is one of the best and most efficient camera work in an action movie. the way pacific rim utilizes space when showing the kaijus is literally taught in art school. they're not just blockbusters they're also iconic movies on a technical point of view!
sometimes things feel good because they are genuinely really good!
Prev: For the record I hasten to add I never meant to imply the Mummy was "so bad it's good" I only meant that it was a movie made for the love of making entertainment rather than some "higher purpose." It's just a really good very fun movie and part of a very specific type of film that is just pure joy injected onto film.

a thing about me is i basically never notice a wig or other kind of hairpiece in tv/movies. it has to be party city territory for me to even twig it. people will complain about characters' wigs looking bad and i will nod along but there is like a 90% chance i did not notice for a second while watching. i consider this mostly a blessing.
