Your misbehaving boyfriend is not funny to me
the erasure of the rape element in mythological retellings is so heinous it borders on misogyny
itās the idea that because rape as an act is misogyny, that talking about rape or including it in stories is also misogyny. as if acknowledging that women were denied agency and dignity somehow further denies us agency and dignity. when really, acknowledging the ways women were/are denied agency and dignity affirms that we are entitled to these things. a feminist story isnāt just a story in which no bad things happen to women. bad things do happen to women. pretending they donāt, and especially trying to superimpose that conviction onto the past, just because it isnāt as fun to dwell on, is not a feminist position.
Will websites implode on themselves if they donāt move the buttons around every month or what
itās rotten work. to me if itās me.

I am curious, for those of you who watch horror movies AND read horror books, which one do you find scarier?
Are you more scared (in general) by horror movies or horror books?
I find horror movies more scary
I find horror books more scary
Both can be equally scary, it depends on the content
I'm too scared and don't read or watch horror
I am very tough and these things never scare me
damn, those children really are full on killing eachother, like the punches that luke was pulling were so brutal i got scared for a second that percy was going to die
specially hearing how the bone was breaking, it was so hard to see someone become so unhinged in such a violent way, "the fleece can't heal you now" like damn
and i loved every second of it, the battle scenes for the next seasons are about to go so fucking hard
Heated rivalry textposts (pt 11/?)

So Iām just going to leave this picture of an old Pablo Picasso here for reference.
#I recognized the reference but had assumed it was more of a general influence however they used the same molding and everything#Iām sure itās supposed to be more of a general statement rather than being about any one artist and Iām sad thereās no caption on her site#but Picasso was certainly one of Those Artist Dudes#which is to say he was an abusive douchebag to most of the women in his lifeĀ (x)
yeah fuck this dude
Not to be dramatic but this is absolutely the right way to deal with creepy old men whose āartā is just pictures of naked women
By the way if you like cubism but really dont want to look at Picasso, check out Francoise Gilot. She tends to do a lot of really stylized paintings of women but⦠Yanno. Without the abuse.
Sheās also one of Picassoās exes and consequently one of his muses. Sheās spoken at length about her experience. And thus far, sheās had some pretty sweet revenge. Sheās free, her artwork is simply gorgeous, and sheās still alive today (as of 2020) at the age of 98!
Edit: i would also like to add that Gilot was already an accomplished artist when she became involved with Picasso, and he completely sabotaged her career when she left him. He discouraged museums from showing her work, and he unsuccessfully tried to block the publication of her memoir, Life with Picasso. To my knowledge, sheās the only one of his āmusesā who is still alive, so letās maybe take this time to explore and celebrate the work of a woman who was overshadowed by her abuser.
things in fic I'm used to people kind of faking their way through writing about:
the city of los angeles
the city of new york
sex
how drinking alcohol works
how getting high works
how a child of any age speaks
how nuclear physics work
how [my job] works
how debilitating being shot in the shoulder is
how hypothermia works
things I have never before seen someone fake their way through writing about, until today:
