Gods rest him. May he have found a vantage point from which to view our endless bullshit without pain.

Wave in Backlight - Peter Witt
German , b. 1966 -
Oil on canvas, 80 x 80 cm.
it was really hard to find an actual source for this. all the galleries i found for peter witt (who does exist, which is a good start) didn't have this piece - but they had other pieces similar to it. i was like, could this be AI... ? really... ?
then i looked up the name of the piece in german - welle im gegenlicht - and i found this:
welle in gegenlicht II
so i was like, okay, it's wave in backlight... 2! how encouraging! let's look for the first one! and i found this:
welle im gegenlicht I
still not the same... even though it's the first one this time.
i was getting really disheartened now. so... the first painting was an AI remix of the original two? isn't that so fucked up?
but then i looked some more, and FINALLY:
welle im gegenlicht
THERE SHE IS! wave in backlight ZERO!
mr. witt, you didn't make it easy for me, but thanks to that i've been able to admire even more of your wave paintings.
AI doubt is making me better (and more obstinate) at sourcing pics, which is great! the quality is of course ass on tumblr, the paintings really shine in the gallery links. :3
Happy Pride!
Every pride, you must reblog this. No exceptions
I love that four different people on my feed scheduled this joyous person to reblog by 8am on June 1. I look forward to seeing this a dozen more times today.
