me when I write a fic specifically exploring a friends-with-benefits to lovers dynamic with an open relationship because I dont see a ton of positive representation of non monogamous relationships and I get a comment praising the work but saying they hope the characters drop the non monogamy and only have eyes for each other. the whole point of the fic is that they love one another and their relationship being open doesn’t take away from that
