@persistentcrows
little jetko piece
What is it with some Stefan antis acting like he also wasn’t abused by Giuseppe? The amount of times I’ve heard him get called spoiled as a child in comparison to Damon is so weird.
Official inks for this, color starts if this does well, if not, well you got some hella good inks :) yay!
One thing that will never stop bothering me is how the writers acted like Kol and Bonnie could never work because Bonnie was a witch.
For years, one of the biggest arguments against Kennett was that Kol hated witches, couldn't be with a witch, would never understand a witch, and that Bonnie being a witch somehow made the pairing impossible.
Then suddenly we get Kol and Davina.
And now all the conversations are about how much Kol understands witches, how fascinating magic is to him, how he connects with powerful witches, how being a witch himself deepened his perspective, and how special his bond with a witch can be. So which is it?
Because if Kol can fall deeply in love with Davina, devote himself to her, support her, respect her power, become a witch himself, and build an entire storyline around that connection, then the argument that Bonnie being a witch made Kennett impossible falls apart.
What frustrates me is that Bonnie had all the ingredients for that story long before Davina existed. Bonnie was powerful, stubborn, intelligent, compassionate, and connected to magic in a way that shaped every aspect of her life. Kol was obsessed with magic, obsessed with witches, and endlessly curious about supernatural power. The potential was sitting right there.
Instead, Bonnie's story was constantly about sacrifice. Saving people. Dying for people. Losing things for people. Meanwhile, Davina got a storyline where a Mikaelson actually chose her, fought for her, and centered her.
Because when I watch Kolvina, I don't see proof that Kennett couldn't work. I see proof that it absolutely could have worked. The writers eventually created an entire romance built around Kol and a powerful young witch. They just didn't give that story to Bonnie Bennett.
And honestly? Bonnie should have had a storyline like that. She deserved to be the center of an epic supernatural romance instead of constantly being treated as the solution to everyone else's problems.
I love shipping Stefan, Bonnie, and Rebekah with everyone.
One of my least favorite things is how people will use Stefan turning Damon as an excuse for everything Damon has done. I also witnessed someone saying that using the argument that Damon was okay with doing it for Katherine is sexual assault apologism LMAO. I hate this fandom so much.
A HUG A DAY: [23/∞] ♡ Stefan & Bonnie [Tvd | 4.02]
Caroline was literally the epitome of white blonde privilege in TVD and yet the writers still framed her as this overlooked, insecure “underdog.”
That pilot scene where she says, “I’m never the one,” honestly makes me roll my eyes every time. Like what do you mean you’re never the one?
She’s blonde, blue-eyed, the daughter of the Sheriff, part of one of the town’s founding families, cheerleader captain, and one of the most popular mean and judgy girls at school.
Caroline Forbes is the definition of small-town royalty.
Her insecurity wasn’t rooted in being invisible or marginalized, it was rooted in not being the main character of the boys she liked.
Which, let’s be honest, is a VERY different struggle.
And the kicker? She says this line to Bonnie, the only woman of color in their friend group 😐
The one who actually faces erasure, dismissal, and constant sidelining both in the narrative and within their friendships. The optics of a privileged blonde girl complaining about never being chosen, while the Black girl nods sympathetically, is just… whew.
The writers probably thought they were making Caroline “relatable” ( which most fans nowadays apparently thinks 🫥 ) but in hindsight it comes across as oblivious and tone-deaf.
Caroline wasn’t an underdog. She wasn’t overlooked by society. She was just a popular girl who didn’t get the guy right away and that’s a very different story than what the show tried to sell.
I get the point they were trying to make about Caroline being “never the first in a relationship” — they highlighted it with Matt and tried to make it a big deal. Fine, whatever, that’s a teen drama trope. But then she moves on with Tyler, who actually treated her well and was a genuinely good boyfriend, even while dealing with his own complicated issues. He showed her respect, loyalty, and care AKA the things a partner is supposed to do.
And yet, the writers still wanted us to feel like Caroline was “left out,” like she hadn’t been properly fulfilled in life, and that Klaus ( the obsessive hybrid who literally agreed to stay away from her IF they slept together ) was somehow her ultimate reward.
Like please.
He didn’t love her, he didn’t respect her boundaries, and he literally walked away the second he got what he wanted.
The way I “dislike” what Caroline for what she represents. Like u can remove her from s3-7 and nothing would rly change, her character is stagnant after s2 and they constantly have her be near perfect. Meanwhile Bonnie is left out like okayyy
Exactly I've never said it that much because I know I would get bamboozled with so much hate but for me I never liked her and I agree she wasn't even needed in most seasons like you said if you took her out of season 3-7 nothing major would change the storylines that matter to the plot.
Like seriously take her out of season 3 and 4 what exactly would've been different in the grand scheme heck if anything Klaus should've spent more time with his hybrids than the useless klaroline scenes because it added nothing and changed nothing.
I mean come on in what world can anybody explain how she would be at the Mikaelson ball but not Bonnie yes I ge excuse was she was trying to look out for matt because she doesn't trust Rebekah who invited him but when did we even see her constantly worry about him that whole night there or why have her wear Klaus dress he picked out its just a insult to Tyler who because of the sirebond he had to leave to break every bone in his body numerous times.
In fact a reason why I hated the later seasons besides two ships and the threats getting boring were because of them making Caroline more of the new main girl after Elena left when what did she bring to the plot other than that God awful relationship steroline that had no chemistry and was boring and should've never made it out of the writers room but Bonnie wasn't the focus who literally had been saving them all since the start.
Me complaining about how hard is is to find TVD fanfic that is ONLY Stefan centric and shipping has turned into my friends (one person in particular, cough, AIDA) trying to change my opinions on Damon Salvatore. Because all the fanfiction they (AIDA) can recommend is Damon centric or Damon shipping, ALL of them. And at first I thought it was a her thing because she actually likes him. But no, nearly every Stefan fanfiction I've found that's more than a handful of chapters legit ALWAYS makes the lead OC or SI or whomever befriend, empathize with, or "redeem" him despite keeping his actions legit the same as in canon.
Damon does not appeal to me at all and the amount of fanfictions I've dropped this week because they push Damon while keeping his shit actions from the show is insane. These actions include, but are not limited to - assaulting/raping/feeding on Caroline; assaulting/raping/feeding on and turning Vicki; taunting Stefan with human blood and using the relapse for his own selfish gains.
I hate Damon Salvatore. The same way no one can make me hate Finn Mikaelson, no one can make me like Damon Salvatore. I have hated him from the moment he said "hello brother" because his entire existence is to be a horrible manchild. He does not give vampire vibes in my opinion. He does not feel like an immortal creature that was once human, he feels like the typical bad boy caricature - MEANING HE'S FUCKING BORING!
And I'm sorry, but any Stefan fanfic that has whoever empathizing with Damon just pisses me off. The amount of fanfics that gloss over the role Damon played in Stefan "falling off the wagon" is really telling of comprehension. Damon's actions against his own brother are not to be empathized or glossed over, give me a Stefan fanfic that has Damon bashing, give me an OC or SI that hates him on sight, give me a fanfic where he's DEAD ASAP!!!
I hope I'm not clogging your tags (or bothering you for that matter) but I just got to the Ripper Stefan bs and let me tell you:
Why do I feel like the inclusion of Stefan being a former (and lets be honest, current) serial killer a way of making Damon look like the better option for Elena by comparison???
I know you don't ship Stelena (or Delena), I don't either, but the addition of Stefan writing the names of his victims on a wall just seems like a really over the top way to try and equalize Stefan and Damon's horridness to give them an even playing field when it comes to trying to win Elena over.
This might be a reach, but it's almost as if Stefan remaining the less violent (he's still very aggressive) brother struggling with bloodlust but trying to push through it would make Elena falling for Damon look really bad both in the show and to the fandom considering his track record of sexual assault, murder, torture, and being responsible for the deaths of countless beloved and innocent characters. Especially compared to Stefan's lesser offenses up until season 2-3.
Idk me and my sister just feel like Ripper Stefan's inclusion is just narrative manipulation to uplift Damon. But I guess it needed to happen because how else would Stefan and Klaus be friends if Stefan wasn't extraordinarily violent for no reason???🙄
Ooooh, let me tell you something!!
Book Stefan has NO issues wirh human blood, not a single one. So initially when they were like "Stefan's a ripper," I was very much interested in how they would do it. Written well, it would've been good, especially post Lexi. But I immediately realized that it was about DAMON and getting him with Elena - which pissed me off, especially because Damon legit causes Stefan's relapse and faces no consequences for it.
Like, a character like Stefan being a serial killer with all the trappings makes no narrative sense, especially because the whole concept of a ripper shouldve been less "violent serial killer" and more "vampire eating disorder" coded (in my humble opinion because, again, would've been far more interesting).
Add in the way it's written so that he's pretty much an addict on top of all that and you get the insensitive clusterfuck that is the "relapse arc" (more accurately the "my brother ruins my life part infinity"). Made worse because I was expecting there to be an emphasis on how Damon killing Lexi backfired worse than he planned - because remember, Lexi was legit the only person to help him with his ripper habits.
Oh, and let me tell you, you're eventually get to Damon's serial killer bullshit and you're gonna rage because Plec legit tries so hard to make Damon sound sympathetic. From the jump, a lot of the poor choices with Stefan was about making Damon likable - or rather SAYING he's more likable. And yet making Stefan a ripper, something out of his control, is WAY more sympathetic even with the addition of "creepy serial killer guilt habits."
My sister said this post re-watch - "so what if Stefan goes on a binge every now and then? Damon never stopped and he's done way worse with his humanity intact. At least Stefan feels guilt and shame."
And yeah, I don't ship Elena with either brother, but lordy do I prefer Stelena. Her whole thing with Damon gives me way worse ick, especially because it feels like she'll justify Damon more than she does Stefan - which is worse now that I think about it because this endures even after he KILLS HER BROTHER RIGHT IN FRONT OF HER!! Lord, I hate these characters, lol.
Klaus needs to stop being praised for freeing marcel when it wasn't even for the right reasons.
Can people please stop using Klaus “saving” Marcel from slavery as some ultimate gotcha like it suddenly makes Klaus morally righteous and means Marcel should worship the ground he walks on forever.
Because the actual context of that scene matters if you actually looked beyond just the action itself, Klaus did not free Marcel because he was passionately anti-slavery.
The show never presents him that way, If Klaus genuinely cared about slavery as an institution why do we never see him freeing other enslaved people?
Why is there no indication he cared before seeing Marcel specifically? Why was the moment that moved him not “oh my god this child is enslaved” but specifically Marcel standing up to his abusive father and about to be beaten for it...because that is what triggered Klaus emotionally.
Marcel reminded him of himself and Mikael, that does not suddenly make Klaus some progressive hero and people forget Klaus, Elijah, and Rebekah were literally socializing around slave owners already. Rebekah was romantically involved with the governor’s son Emil before Klaus killed him not for abusing slaves or even digust on any stance Emil showed slaves no because Emil wanted to stand up for Rebekah.
They were around plantations and enslaved people long before Marcel yet Klaus never showed any urgency to help any of them or really just one until he saw a boy being beaten by his father and projected onto him, that’s the poin and no this is not me saying Marcel is some flawless innocent angel either because he absolutely is not.
Marcel has done horrible things too I just find it ridiculous when Klaus stans act like “he saved Marcel from slavery” automatically erases every toxic, controlling, abusive thing Klaus did afterward, saving one child you emotionally connected with while doing nothing about the actual system around him is not the same thing as caring about slavery itself y’all just hear “Klaus freed a slave” and stop thinking deeper than that.
happy pride month to them🪭🔥
Here are some quick colors. I hope you guys had as much fun as I did with this comic journey! I've decided to call it good here, as the engagement is not enough to continue coloring-no hard feelings, just gotta move on to other projects:) I did manage to get two pages to look decent enough :) Now it's time to pour all my energy back into original comic story ideas (Limbus) and pitches to grow my portfolio, toodles! It's been real:)
I love the idea of Kai after he merged with Luke. I always wonder what his character's future could have been if they hadn't killed him off. Seeing a sociopath now having to deal with having feelings and figuring out what his place is in the coven/with his family and in the world after getting out of his prison would have been an interesting story on the show.
Liv hated him before the merge, but I think it would have been so interesting to see her want to be around Kai just because she misses Luke so much. Or to see Kai get a chance to have a relationship with Jo on their terms instead of their father's. He would have made an interesting addition to the Mystic Falls group too since Jo and Liv were already involved with them. Plus the obvious pro of getting to see Bonnie and Kai figuring out some kind of relationship after what he did to her. I'm pro Bonkai, but even if they didn't fully explore a romantic relationship between them it could have been good to see Bonnie sort of in control of any redemption he might get. It could have let the show center her story more, especially after Nina left. There was just so much potential there that could have made for a more interesting season 7 than what we got. Even if Kai didn't become a heretic, his interaction with Lily and the heretics would have been something interesting to see because they were both banished to prison worlds by the Gemini, and the heretics themselves had been cast out of the Gemini coven.
Im obsessed with what Elijah must be thinking. Mostly it’s about murdering/torturing/leaving Klaus true but just like ten minutes ago Klaus was begging Elijah to help him end Stefan Salvatore and now Klaus is so angry that Stefan’s suicidal.
My headcanon is this is where Elijah realizes Klaus is in love with Stefan and those falsified letters from Rebekah take on some new subtext.
@laertez bless you
klaus + stefan looking insanely pretty
