Liara T'soni's romance as written in ME1 kind of sucks bc there's a lot of gross weird shit the writers are leaning on, right? I'll acknowledge that. Specifically emphasizing her youth and inexperience is a pretty 😬 sometimes (106 years old but the 'barely more than a child' by her own species standard is both contradicted by the game and needlessly yucky!)
But I do think it's funnier if you take control of the narrative and choose to interpret her as just like. A horny nerd a la 80s sex comedy. She gets laid for the very first time by Shepard and it just makes her fully insane. Shep gets blown out into space like a few months later and Liara's like OH NO YOU DON'T and gives her corpse to terrorists so they can bring her back. Meets Shep again for the first time in two years and makes out with her IMMEDIATELY (right after threatening to flay someone deliberately within earshot, signaling that she's been thinking about it for a while and she's pretty sure she's figured out she's a switch btw)
Like okay no this doesn't fix all the problems obviously but I do think it's hilarious. She's an obsessive science geek with Connections - obviously saving the galaxy from the reapers is priority #1 but bringing her first lesbian experience back from the dead to keep getting laid through the apocalypse is honestly a power move in need of equal respect
Shepard: *dies*
Liara, who wasn't even half way through the list of positions she wanted to try yet: hmmm... Nope
